BT5 support won't be there on any Android device - even though OEM are advertising it - until Android O got released. Indeed Android O will add software support for BT5, and I would guess by a firmware update all SD835 devices will support it as soon as Android O is released for the respective devices.

Edit:.just read the link from @jsaxon2 and you'll know ;) Something that I learned a while ago is stated there. All other OEM are just using it for marketing right now, no more no less.

I'm a bit irked that there doesn't seem to be aptX support. I don't know how much difference aptX really makes, but if it makes even a little difference, it seems odd to omit it on a phone whose brand is known for audio. It's especially irritating since aptX is pretty common on high-end smartphones these days. And even more so in light of the omitted headphone jack.
It has aptx support. HTC was one of the pioneers using it before everyone else. No doubt, any analog or bluetooth audio sounds better coming from an HTC device than any other.
Another feature it has thats been left out of everything is airplay support, right out the box. Swipe up with three fingers.

I haven't seen one place where it lists the U11 as having aptX support. Not the aptX website nor the HTC site. None of the U series appear to support aptX. I see the airplay support but nowhere is there mention of aptX. I have a fairly nice bluetooth speaker with aptX (Riva Turbo X) that I use often at my work and again, if this is an omission it is a troubling one on top of the omitted 3.5mm jack. I would love to be wrong as I am seriouisly considering this phone.
