No data?

I just bought a Galaxy S II and it's not receiving data. It was used from eBay though.
Naturally, the first thing I did was root it. I'm on ShoStock's 1.9.4 ROM. I thought it was the modem, so I downloaded another one (UCPLC5) and this isn't working either. I also added the APN settings from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1109983
Not working. I can't seem to find anything on this. What's going on? Tried two different modems and put in new APN settings.

When I first got my sgs2 I had to get a new sim card from att for data to start working.

AT&T gives them for free, at least I never had problems for years of asking.
