Well, things slowed down a little as I'm pretty busy lately and to that usb port in my v60 died last week.

So far testing rebased and updated to latest caf tag kernel. So far looks pretty good. Just have to format sd card when comming from stock kernel cause it says it's corrupted.

Fantastic to see TWRP on this device finally. Has anyone else tried it on their own LG V60? If I could get TWRP working I'd love to be able to install MicroG and Magisk.

Edit: Also a download link to an image file would be nice if anyone has it :)

All this is useless for us in the US... Only European model can be unlocked... Do your research before buying a phone and hoping....

You have to wait till I fix USB port in my v60. Than when I'll boot custom rom, I'll release ofox and maybe kernel. Patience guys...

It exists. It's pinned on the v60 telegram. I have personally confirmed it to be working on my demo v60 which I converted to to the stock South African kdz.
so you went from a tmobile to a south african firmware? is that better than tmobile or att firmware?

if you dont mind how did you cross flash? what were the steps? can you go back to stock firmware after the cross flash?

I don't know if T mobile demos exist, but I had a brand new Verizon demo I got on eBay for $60. It was running the demo software, stopping it from charging past 50% battery. It also came with a retail mode app that put some Verizon promo on it every time you turned it off, but I was able to remove that by using ADB AppControl. Earlier in October, someone confirmed that the South African kdz basically returned the phone back to stock, but since it physically didn't have a cellular modem or fingerprint sensor, those things wouldn't work. WiFi, however, did work. I just flashed the South African kdz though LGUP while my phone was in download mode. I also just received my fingerprint sensor I got off of AliExpress and put it in and now the fingerprint sensor works as well.(I have some other phones so I don't need this to have working cell service) Through TWRP, I was able to root and flash a custom kernel someone made here on xda as well. I did madke a QFIL backup of my device although I doubt I'll really need that.

what version twrp did you flash on the Verizon demo? did you check all functionality of twrp did it have bugs did it allow for a full backup via twrp?

what mode did you use to cross flash the verzion demo? was there an error while attempting to cross flash?

But still will need some testing to do. Also I'm waiting for European v60 R kernel than I will try to build some rom.

No root, no recovery= no development... Unless someone comes up with some nice Dual screen apps
    Hello

I have managed to extract the boot.img from the kdz file and patched it with Magisk. I now have an operating rooted LG V60 LMV600EA.

Getting decryption working in custom recovery is giving me a headache. But I did not give up yet.

And root? No problem with that, I'm having magisk since long time...

It seems like there's a variant of the V60 that can be bootloader unlocked (the Euro ver.) and back when I had the V30 we did something similar where you would have to convert your NA variant (Or any variant that was not listed in LG's official bootloader unlocking site [EXCEPT T-MOBILE]) to the supported variant's firmware then flash the unlock.bin file.
I dont know how useful this will be for the V60 though, just sharing my previous experience :) just too scared to test this method on my daily driver.
Yes, european versions(mine) always get bootloader unlock. But from what I know it's impossible to unlock any other versions untill someone find an exploit. And since v60 isn't very popular I doubt there will be unlock for any other version of it(about european).
