What the hell i`m doing wrong. It`s been a while since last rooting with fastboot commands.
Adb reboot bootloader works fine...But in there when i try to boot/flash my own patched image,text saying in cmd waiting for device???

More than likely the adb / fastboot files you're using.. there's some in the OP.

Tested with Windows 10, 7 doesn't work.. I also had a problem with unofficial cables, they don't all work.

So there's no solution? I have orinal cable. Or have to download adb/fastboot files somewhere else and just try time after time if it's working?

Well I'm sure there is a solution, you just have to go through a few things..

If you're already using the original cable and you're on win 10 then it'll more than likely be your adb / fastboot files you're using..

Create a new folder in the root of C, so the path would be C:/adb

Download the ones I've got in the OP or a reputable place.

Pop open a terminal / CMD window to that location then run:

adb reboot bootloader

When you boot to the bootloader...try fastboot reboot, if it works then you're golden..

It can only be so many things.

PS: use usb 2 instead of 3 or 3.1

That's completely untrue...

Oxygen updater does work, it downloads the file then you'll need the apk to flash it.

Just grab minimal adb/fastboot files you don't need the whole Android SDK to boot things from fastboot

Well, yes! I asked around in their discord and the devs themselves told me the method is for people with locked BL and that I should re lock it after rooting.

Weird, coming from a Xiaomi Mi8, having unlocked BL never posed an issue.

But then again, things might have changed in the time I was away from tinkering with stuff on Android

Sorry are you saying that you can't use oxygen updater it's your bootloader is unlocked? If so then that is 100% untrue, oxy updater just downloads the file..

You use the local install apk to install it then hold until you initiate the magisk after OTA, again that's in the OP

No, what I'm saying is that the method you describe in the OP doesn't apply to unlocked BLs, you can do it but it won't work and you risk bricking the device. Unlocked BLs should only update whenever there's a full update and not an incremental.
This is according to what I've read about the oxygen updater on the app, website and their discord

I've also written that it's a pre requisite to root to be bootloader unlocked.

At this point, let me ask you a few things.

1. Are you rooted now?
2. Is your phone 2213
3. What firmware are you on? C22

You can update the phone just fine with unlocked BL. Those devs have no clue what they're talking about. Just take care to disable all modules, fully unroot first via Magisk, reboot! Then you can take the OTA update like normal, you will be unrooted of course. So just reroot via booting patched boot again on desired firmware.

Or just use the local update APK and click "install after OTA" in magisk, then reboot and you'll retain root .

I'm having trouble with this. It worked for me prior but my daughter was using my phone and accepted an OTA update, losing me my root access.
I'm able to extract the boot.img after downloading the firmware from Oxygen Updater, I have had Magisk patch it, and then when I fastboot boot magisk_patched... it bootloops once and then takes me right back into my non-rooted OS.

There's only one reason I can see why this could be happening, even though I'm downloading "Full" from Oxygen Updater, FastbootEnhance is still telling me it's an incremental package (which I'm forcing through with the "Allow Incremental" checkbox). But I can't see to find a way to get the full update package, even though my Oxygen Updater settings are set to "Full".

Edit: My phone is an NE2213, and my daughter originally accepted an update for OxygenOS 13, but I have since updated to 13.1 as part of my troubleshooting steps.
