No midnight black in Canada?!

I checked all pre-orders available... No freaking black anywhere in Canada?!? Lilac and grey only??? Did I miss something here?

That's messed up. I personally would of gone grey but black will do for me at least here in the states.

Yup. I wanted the grey one so it turned out perfect but more color options would have been nice. As far as why Samsung? They've always treated Canada like a 3rd world country tbh. It terms of revenue we sort of are. We're more or less Apple country if you look at the numbers. That's why they stopped giving us the Exynos variant after the s7. Why ship different variants to the same continent. We just don't buy enough to matter. Why bother giving us the color that sells the most...

if you want the black colour for s9, you can get it from pdaplaza.ca ...the have it in black but the price is about 100 more, but the internal memory is 128gb, unlike the standard 64g...who knows, maybe samsung will release the black colour after the preorder phase........i know, its so stupid how samsung wont offer standard black colour........

I emailed Samsung about this also. One issue is warranty. If you buy from the USA (they have midnight black), then good luck getting warranty if you are in Canada. I sure hope Samsung makes the black version available to Canada - soon.

Samsung doesn't treat the USA any better... Yes - we get three colors. But where is 128GB or 256GB options for the USA?!?! And no preorder bonus gifts? Come on Sammy! You can do better!

I agree we are a small market by any metric, but wouldn't black make a hell of a lot more sense? It's neutral, common and easy to sell off IMO. That being said, I thought I saw the S9 was going back to Exynos for W8..? Did I goof up? If not then my decision is getting easier.

Thanks I'll look it up but I was hoping to get it on my tab to save some cash this time around. Plus there's the issues that come with getting an international version...

Like I said above, thought I read W8 was going back to Exynos, so US models would have SD. But you're bang on about the warranty; I've had a Duos S6 and it went kaput, never got any kind of support from Sam, which is totally messed up, against most Consumer Protection Acts in the Country and is just horrible business. Look at how easy it is to get Apple to cover their devices...

Edit: I guess it is a Snapdragon in Canada according to Rogers anyway. But every other source I've seen lists it as Exynos... weird.

You get $150 off if you trade in any junk phone, its something. The s9 is $810 after trade in, when was the last time a galaxy phone was this cheap?

Yeap I've been pissed off about this since the announcement.. I messaged Samsung Canada on Facebook just bitching about it and the reply I got about 10 days later (so just a couple days ago) was: "Don't worry. You'll get your black"... So I don't know wtf that means I messaged back saying I hope that doesn't mean in 6 months when they need a sales boost bcuz I'll just wait for the S10 if that's the case and I got no response after that, which I bet that's what they meant bcuz that's the kinda **** Samsung pulls... I've also been tweeting Samsung Canada and Samsung Mobile about this repeatedly. Such BS. Whoever's idea this was should be fired or punched in face, one or the other.
