+1 this worked perfectly on my Droid.

One thing though - you have to keep the Wireless Tether app running on Bluetooth mode on your Droid or you wont be able to connect.

Someone earlier said they were able to bluetooth-tether from the Xoom without touching their phone. Not sure how that was done...
I am rooted on my droid. When I pair the phone and xoom it says paired but not connected.... any ideas what's going on here?

Once the devices are paired, using the native bluetooth Tethering profile on the Xoom it will auto connect to my DroidX when you press Tethering

Here is a video showing the steps to tether via the native bluetooth from Xoom to DroidX

Wifi tether works fine for me, I just can't get my evo and the zoom to connect via Bluetooth.

Still not connecting for me.

OK i finally figured it out. I had wireless tether running and then I paired the devices. That is the only way that I could see the bluetooth profile on the xoom. Anyways it works and it is awesome. Anyways thanks for all the tips, now I wish the guy at costco didn't lie to me and require me to activate the data.....

OK, when I go to the market and put in 'wireless tether' there are several pages of listings. Which one is it??

Thanks
While you can try the Wireless tether app, if you are using a Droid X you shouldn't need that app, just use the built in bluetooth tethering in the Xoom, this way you don't need to have the app running on your Droid X to make it work :)

I have seen and tried that and it seems to work but the 3G icon is still present. So, I'm not sure it is actually using the Droid X or xoom 3G data plan? When I use WiFi the 3G disappears.

I am not sure, but I always turn off the 3G data when not actively using it, that way you don't get zapped with data being used from updates and such. With 3G and Wifi off, if you are tethered and using the internet, then it is definitely coming from the bluetooth tether ;)

Seems like the Bluetooth tether is picky about what type, I find that it does not work on my HTC Hero (2.3) using PDAnet and DUN but does work if I use the app titled " Wireless Tether " with PAN tethering.

Hope this helps some people!

First post by the way! A very excited Xoom owner and android fanatic joins the ranks!

So I have to ask... I've got an iPhone (I know, boo hiss) JB running MyWi 4.0. If I create the wireless hotspot the Xoom doesn't see it so I assume I would need to root and add the tether app. Not sure I'm keeping this yet, so we'll see if that happens. I tried BT tethering but that seemed to not be working. The devices would pair but stay at not connected. I set it to use the BT connection to tether and I enabled tethering in MyWi on BT but it didn't seem to matter. No dice. Anyone else try this combo?

The wifi issue is because the Xoom will not connect (yet, maybe with a hack) to ad-hoc wifi. Seems like BT should work tho.
