This January build is working very well for me so far (T-Mobile, US)! Root still works, still passes safetynet and Renovate Ice 1.0 still works. I haven't tried any of the custom kernels yet as I prefer waiting a few days before doing so after a factory image update is pushed through (to get an idea of how much SOT I can get on the new build). But I've seen an updated kernel release for Kirisakura and for Despair already - so those kernels should work fine with the January update =).

Best of luck all! Have a wonderful weekend!

The usual places. Just Google for official pixel firmware. Folks have also gotten the OTA. 215MB if they're on November, 47MB is they're on December. If you're rooted, use the full factory image, though, don't actually take the OTA.

Thanks! The update is installing now on the P6P. Came from OTA when I manually checked.

It has been about 50 minutes and ~75% complete based on the progress bar.

Here's to hoping this fixes dropped signal/lazy re-connect and any improvement on 5G (which I've turned off). Strangely, NetMonster app showed constant 5G connect attempts even in good signal area - when 5G is on.

Edit: additional details

You're welcome! I haven't had time to update my rooted / modded P6P yet. My wife checked for the update last night before bed, she started the process and then in the middle of the night she checked and it was ready to reboot.

They should make it more obvious that you can use your phone at least during the initial part, which still took a long while. My wife assumed she couldn't until I had her try.

I was rooted with latest magisk canary on November update and tried ota but it failed. Sideload ota didn't work either and gave me an error.

Android flash tool website worked like a charm and now I am on january build without wipe and rooted again 😊

Feels nice and snappy
Hey, can you explain how you did this. I also failed to update rooted.

Indeed slow and i had no idea I could have used the phone for the hour it took to update.

I just started a new post related to MMS not working in Google Messages app after the January update.

If anyone has thoughts on how to fix, let me know in that thread.

Does anyone object to my removing my own Mega links from the OP? I need to clear some Mega space for my free account. All the December stuff is still on Android File Host, besides the original Google links (also in the OP) which probably *still* work.

Please let me know ASAP (before 6 PM Eastern Time Tuesday, January 24th, 2022) if you need any of them. I might find another cloud home for them if there's some need.

They can still get them through the XDA links as well, so I say delete away.

Hi!

TL;DR: Besides all the rest I wrote below, Googling provided the information you're looking for with this search. The top search result, and XDA article: "Pixel 6’s fingerprint scanner calibration tool is failing for some users". A few more details in that XDA article.

  • I'm sorry to hear your screen broke.

  • This isn't really the appropriate thread for this, as this thread is only regarding the December firmware update, which Google had "removed" the links after some bugs were discovered.
In the future, you can perform a similar search such as demonstrated below to find a relevant thread (you can try with or without "Search titles only" checked - you might find some non-fingerprint threads where someone mentions, but either way, they'd likely be a more appropriate thread than this one. Please continue this discussion in one of those threads:
1645107712240.png

  • I do believe I remember reading in this section someone who reported something similar regarding the online fingerprint calibration tool not working for the P6P at this time. I don't remember which particular thread it was mentioned, nor by who, or if it was even a fingerprint-specific thread.
In the end, you may have to contact Google to find out what to do, but perhaps someone in one of the fingerprint threads you find through the search above will have a better idea.
Good luck!

No one should need these December images anymore. There is a single January update available now - 12.0.0 (SQ1D.220105.007, Jan 2022). It doesn't specify if it's a consolidated image to replace all the separate images, as Google usually or always does eventually for each Pixel, or if they'll release additional images.

It's available at the usual place: https://developers.google.com/android/images#raven

    OLD:
The December full firmware and OTA zips have finally been removed from https://developers.google.com/android/images#raven and https://developers.google.com/android/ota#raven.

NEW - official download links for the images and OTAs still exist
If I'm not mistaken, then you can still download the December 2021 images directly from Google's servers. Only the listing has been edited, but the files aren't physically removed till date.
Note, I found the SQ1D.211205.016.A5 (AU) official direct Google links here.

I and others are uploading them to make them available here for anyone who wants or needs them.

I highly encourage everyone who downloads full firmware zips to check that the hash matches what you download, especially when dealing with unofficial downloads such as this, but even when official. You never know when a piece of nasty malware is going to infiltrate a site and modify the files, giving you an instant trojan when you flash this, and it might not be known about for months or longer.

    Thanks section
Thanks to @SkandaH for making me aware that the official Google download links still work.

Dumb question, how would I know which of the Raven's to sideload?
By whatever area you use a carrier in. If the United States, you would use the .017. Below is the full list of the December factory images that were available. I don't have any of the December OTAs, only the full factory image for US Carriers (.017) and the the one for UK, IE, FR, DE (.016.A4).

A couple of users are going to get me another full factory image I don't have yet, and a couple of the OTAs.
