US firmwares... U and U1what firmwares can you flash on to 960w?
You mean like flashing foreign device firmware that also uses Snapdragon hardware with with an unlocked bootloader?
Those are F variants AFAIK, not compatible with other (U or W) Snappy devices.
the firmwares for usa and canada variants are interchangeable.. basically U/U1/W..thx for getting back about what firmwares i can flash onto my 960w.
can you mod snapdragon unlockable firmware to flash onto US/CAN in hopes it replaces files which would allow the unlock to show up?
i dont know much but just wondering what ideas have tried. such a beautiful phone and imo ruined the experience for me not having root
The realist in me thinks that a 2017 exploit has probably already been patched by now. But here's to hoping ?Someone posted this in the S9/Plus Pie Beta forum, interesting read

No i haven't. I'm only looking into it. If something else comes up in this size or google decides to make pixel 3+ with sd slot, goodbye forever scumsung. I haven't owned a scumsung since s3. Should've kept it, probably getting Lineage-Pie soon. I would still demand scumsung unlocks s9. I'm likely going to buy as soon as price drops a little more. But you did buy it... Lol

The S9+ is my first Samsung phone and it'll be my last, regardless of the features -- I'm not going to sit around holding my breath from them to allow bootloader unlocks for US devices. Samsung doesn't give a **** how we feel about it.I would still demand scumsung unlocks s9. I'm likely going to buy as soon as price drops a little more.
If something new comes up on the market the size of s9 or pixel 3, i'll forget about scumsung like it never existed. Of course they don't care about us we only complain to each other in forums. Maybe we should try flooding them with requests to unlock or else we'll stop buying. We can start bashing them on social media. I haven't tried sams yet but works for me with other big and small corporations for problems i have with their products. I don't even know how Sams handles os updates for unlocked devices. Will i be stuck with Oreo or Pie 2-4 years down the road, instead of any updated optimized custom rom of my choice. There is: the OnePlus 6t. There is also the International versions of the s9 and s9+, both exynos and Snapdragon. Both are completely unlockable and can be easily rooted. If something new comes up on the market the size of s9 or pixel 3, i'll forget about scumsung like it never existed. I'm not familiar with one+ brand, i know it doesn't have SD which is a must for me. Second important thing is size. Can't have international need standard us&a warranty. I can wait it's not critical for me to have a flagship phone. I'm just as upset as current and past scumsung device owners. Wonder about their tabs. There is: the OnePlus 6t. Basically if you buy the us versions of these phones, don't expect to ever get root, and given how often this is repeated on blast here, I'm inclined to think you get what you deserve for not doing research ahead of your purchase ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You will be waiting forever, because there is about a 0.00000000000000000000000000000000007% chance of it happening.I'm not familiar with one+ brand, i know it doesn't have SD which is a must for me. Most sellers will proxy a return on the unlikely event you actually have warranty work, but I can't remember the last time I saw someone need any outside of stupid brick stuff directly resulting from the device being locked down (and thus easily fixable if unlock were possible).
I really don't understand the obsession with a "us warranty" and willingness to completely forego customization of it's sake.
Having difficulty paying up front is one thing (although things are possible then too) but the warranty? Do you guys always buy the extended warranty on all your other purchases too?
I bought mine directly from samsung i havent even gotten the one ui update every carrier got it. Its the same snapdragon that everyone. You cannot buy Exynos from a carrier. You have to buy directly from Samsung for that. I know because I requested a Exynos variant. Sprint said they couldn't (or wouldn't) give me one.
You absolutely can but buy them from Samsung, as you are buying out of region. Your have to buy from someone selling direct, for which there are tons of sellers on Amazon, with prime shipping, and backed by Amazon's guarantee so you know it's not fake. Couldn't be easier if you have the moneyI bought mine directly from samsung i havent even gotten the one ui update every carrier got it. Its the same snapdragon that everyone.
Right but I'm pretty sure that'd brick you. But general rule of thumb, if it was that easy don't you think we'd already have root. But even if, best case scenario, let's say they could work and don't brick us, I'm doubtful we would make it through secure boot. Unless those tars are signed by Samsung and pass the secure boot/Odin security check. And we would have to flash everything, I'm guessing that includes the userdata too because if we just flash one part it and it has one piece to getting around one check, another part might be required to get through another check. I just doubt the **** would boot if we tried flashing it because it would fail the PBL sector. You mean like flashing foreign device firmware that also uses Snapdragon hardware with with an unlocked bootloader?

I don't know honestly the only known ones are the ones posted with guides in the forum.what firmwares can you flash on to 960w?
