I have been using this port since the day it was first released and it has been amazing, i appreciate all the work which has gone into producing this. The only problem for me other than the minor annoyance of the double-settings as shown in the screenshot a few posts above this, is that when using a modified DPI one of the settings from each menu is cut from the screen. Is there a solution for sorting this? I tried using the 'App Settings' Xposed module and setting the default DPI of 640 on the camera app but it didn't have any effect, which is a shame.

On Friday evening i actually sold my DSLR camera (Canon 650D) with the hope of upgrading to something better, but in the meantime i'll be stuck with the G4 as my primary camera and will be attending a show this week in which i will need to do photography. So it would be excellent to find a solution to the DPI problem before then, as it would improve my experience with the camera app massively!

Probably this is not gonna help solve your problem, but you should know default DPI is ~537

Hmm? Default DPI for me was 640 on the stock V20 Marshmallow ROM, i have mine at the moment on 540 and everything is much smaller than before.

Exactly my phone too.

Don't know where you got the number but it's wrong.

Check

http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/g4/tech_specs (look for the more correct term PPI), or any other specs website,

or use a dependable program like cpuz,

or measure your screen and divide resolution but the measurements.

Stock DPI is something between 534 and 537.

Here (my phone is stock):

Oh i understand where the confusion is coming from. I'm aware the screen DPI/PPI is somewhere in the region of 534-537 like you quite rightly stated, but i was referring to what the DPI was set to my default in the OS under /system in the build.prop file. The default for the G4 is 640 but i have adjusted mine to 540, which makes everything smaller and more spaced-out but also introduces this problem within both the stock and ported camera apps.

I can't tap INSTALL, just CANCEL. Can't install any version of the app :crying:
I have LS991
This is a security feature of android when you have something overlaying the screen to prevent being tricked into installing things.

Temporarily disable your screen filter and then hit install.

is there any way to make the camera record videos with phone in 527dpi? I get crash everytime I try to record that way. @yener90
Are you sure it works with standard value?
Thanks to your log i know why it force closes:
Camera app wants to use ProcessRecord function from your media server.
Your media server says: i dont have this function

So the real problem is, it has conflicts with your Android. What ROM are you using?

can you make this camera for lollipop rooted.
No, i cant. LG changed whole camera libraries from Lollipop to Marshmallow.
They made G4 and V10 using same libraries in Marshmallow.
Therefore its much better using V10 camera in Marshmallow.

Old one would require a lot of work and wouldn't work so good like the Marshmallow one.
Therefore i dont want to spend time on that.

I am using the Brazilian Rom 20b. I tried to Brazilian 20a, 20f from turkey and the 20g, with the same problem. I will make new tests, but as I recall at 640dpi it works. As my device has no root or unlock bootloader, I extracted the system.img using the "dd", edited the build.prop on linux and I flash back to the cell. I do not know if I made a wrong step on the way, but everething else works well :(

Qualitiy/Sharpness 30fps vs. 60fps

has anyone noticed the difference of sharpness betwenn 30fps and 60fps?
30fps are better than 60fps.

i am using V10 camera app V4 (LG G4)

The problem is not in the camera, it's in the media server.
Camera asks media server for camera parameter and media server doesn't answer. It doesn't work. So after changing your dpi, your media server is not working properly anymore.

@Toshiba_AT100 60 fps will be recorded at lower resolution. 120 fps even lower. Therefore you got sharpness lose. I also don't understand why the camera is so bad and cant record 120FPS in 1080p.
