Hi everyone! And sorry for my english! Last month I bought my P20 lite, but I was unaware Official Huawei Free Bootloader Unlock service had been suspended permanently. So I am here because I need to downgrade my firmware using the dload method.
My Build Number: ANE-LX1 8.0.0.149(C432), Security Level Patch Date: 1 August 2018.
I've searched on androidhost.ru/search for "ane-l01" firmware, since my phone is Single SIM, and I think that "Huawei P20 Lite Anne-L01 ANE-L01 + ANE-L21 8.0.0.125(C432) Firmware Android 8.0.0 EMUI 8.0.0 05015ACP androidhost.ru.zip" is a good firmware to downgrade at. androidhost.ru/5NY. Could you tell me if it's the right firmware?

You are ok with 125, but IMO you don't need go so deeper, 145 should be fine to use for downgrade.

HUAWEI P20 LITE ANE-L01 ANNE-L01 8.0.0.145(C432)
Thanks kilroystyx. I've found two version of that firmware:
  1. Huawei P20 Lite ANE-L01 Anne-L01 8.0.0.145(C432) Firmware Android 8.0.0 EMUI 8.0.0 05015ACF androidhost.ru.zip (suggested by you)
  2. Huawei P20 Lite ANE-L01 Anne-L01 8.0.0.145(C432) Firmware Android 8.0.0 EMUI 8.0.0 05014YWP androidhost.ru.zip
I just wanted to know what is the difference between them since they are for the same region?
I am afraid to flash a firmware for a different model like whats89 did.
Are there any risks doing the downgrade? (i.e. soft-brick or loop-boot)

I noted that too, so I suggested the recent one, maybe it fixed a minor bug or something.
Are you planning stay in the B145 or is just to allow you unlock bootloader?

When I try flash firmware from other region it fails during verification.

Always the risk is present, we can soft-brick the device during installation.
What I can say to you is that I did this a few times without facing any problem.

I need to unlock bootloader, so I have to downgrade since Dc Unlocker doesn't even recognize the phone.
But in case of soft-brick there is always a chance to restore phone at the factory settings, right?

I have only another doubt. What if after bootloader unlock, I update to the last version of firmware? (from 150 upwards)
The bootloader remains unlock or it will locks again?

I never faced a soft-brick with dload method, so I can not answer you.

After you unlock the bootloader you will see a message that your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted every time that you switch on.
If this message doesn't bother you then you can update your device using other methods, if not, use only this method to update your device.
Only this method lock bootloader, the others don't.

Note, never try relock the bootloader if your device is not stock.

Does the message appear only for a few seconds or I need to tap somewhere to continue the boot process?
You say

But I don't plan to re-lock the bootloader, so I can update from settings menu as I did when I update to firmware 150, right?

What do you mean for "device not stock"? Did you mean if I flash some ROMs I can't relock bootloader? I don't care of it, I just want to root my phone and install TWRP.

Sorry for asking many things but you are one of the few that I trust!

Yes, only few seconds and it won't be needed tap any button to continue the boot process, but it's possible if you want, check comments in the pic enclosed.

With bootloader unlocked you can continue receive updates.

If you Install twrp, custom roms, root, etc... mean that your device has been modified and cannot be relocked.
But now relock is no more necessary because it is possible lock using the dload method.

Indeed before you wrote "Now I'm in B150 because is the last firmware available that I can lock (not relock) the bootloader, I'm thinking sell the phone..."

Now I've downloaded the Huawei P20 Lite ANE-L01 Anne-L01 8.0.0.145(C432) version of the firmware you suggested to me
The guide says I have to "copy the "dload" folder (with its contents!) to the external sd card".
But in the dload folder there are two sub-folder for both ANE-L01 => Single SIM and ANE-L21 => Dual SIM
I have to copy dload folder just as it is or I have to remove the sub-folder ANE-L21 that regards Dual SIM phones?

Then, if I make Wipe Cache Partition, Wipe Data/Factory Reset, I return the phone to its initial state, when it had previous firmware version. Now, I wonder why is it necessary to do the dload method if I obtain the same result just with command Wipe Data/Factory Reset? Do you know kilroystyx?

At that time the last firmware available was B150, today is B160.
I’m not planning sell the phone anymore, but in meantime I changed my provider to Vodafone P.
With only one SIM the word “Vodafone P” is too long and I changed to “YORN”, so I save some space for other information…

I always delete the folder that is not relevant for my device, due to my SDCard is on limit, but I’m pretty sure that you can keep both, only the correct sub-folder will be used during installation.

Wipes/Factory reset don’t downgrade your firmware. The current firmware remains untouched only cache and data partition is cleaned.
Nowadays to allow unlock bootloader only downgrade firmware via dload method.

Yes should work. If you are with TWRP do it a backup before.
