Same issue with my HTC U11 also

It started two days back, tried multiple factory reset but no use. For me this happened while travelling in my car, it was working 15 mins back, was able to attend couple of calls but later it just got into this condition.:(

Same issue but phone also crashed

What the hell? My U11 JUST started acting up yesterday.
All of a sudden no 4G signal, no wifi, and today it got so worse that the phone crashed itself and turned off.

Just a small update. Figured it's a heat problem, and the phone is choosing to disable wireless connections without warning and/or shut itself off. Happens when I fast charge, play games, or even just bring it into a hot room. It also seems to heat up slightly even when just browsing the web for a while, and then just locks the sim card out of nowhere.
I have changed the screen and battery two months ago, but even then it wasn't that sensitive to heat. I'm sending it to a repair shop again to see what's what.

Same happened to my u11 Dual sim today. Lost both sim cards and wifi connection. It occured few minutes after updating to Magisk Manager 8.0.0, but I don't think if this is the reason. I'll try to do some things and if it will help I'll post it here, but if no then it will not be funny at all. When I think about factory reset and after that installing and doing settings...fcuk what a waste of time...

That's an really interesting point. Maybe we damaged the temperature sensor by replacing the screen? I do not even know where it is set?
But to test your idea I'll put my phone in the fridge for a while and start it there. If it works there the heat-limit could be the reason. Then we should figure out where it is set on the platine. Thanks for sharing!
I'll reply after the fridge test.

Putting it under a fan works for me.

Assume that the motherboard is working properly, the faulty part would be the battery and its temp sensor going kaput. The sensors multitool app shows battery temp 32 Celcius at idle, room temp is around 27ish, looks normal to me? But if the screen replacement compromised its water resistance, and water got in somehow, then we have a bigger problem. I fear its the latter and this phone is on its way to the graveyard. Repair shop also says its likely a mobo issue. On one occasion, I took multiple photos using GCam and it black screened then shut itself off, didn't even have the chance to get hot.

I don't think so. I had the issues before replacing the screen. But I was in the hope that maybe if I reconnect the battery it would fix it. I could give a new battery a try. It could really be that part. I think since mobile phones exist the first thing that got damaged was always the battery.

My phone is stock inside and I never replace any part of it. It's true that yesterday when I was browsing Internet phone got little warm but it was hours before then this issue occurred.

Mhm... That refutes our theroy... But I'll try though. I've already ordered a new battery. There are some improved batterys on the market. So i ordered a 5300mAh one. But it takes about a month for delivery I think. Meanwhile I'll place the phone in the fridge as said before and will test this method.

I have DevCheck installed on my phone so I can read temperature. Battery is in good condition, when fully charge and plugged into dc it's 32C. I'm preparing to install RUU. If this won't happened then I'll stick with my Alcatel 1s 2019 for replacement for longer period than few days;).

After installing RUU problem is not solved. "com.android.phone is not responding". So now I cannot install anything without wifi. So after almost 3 years phone is useless.

Baseband is still unknown. And I think this is the issue here. But how we can repair that I don't know for now.

So I installed a CPU temp sensor app and monitored it while playing a game. Once at 50c the wifi and 4G signal just cut off, the back of the phone isn't even warm yet. Exit the game and let it rest a bit and signal came back like nothing ever happened.

Looks like normal Android procedure, but the weird thing is it wasn't that sensitive before, and quick charging never caused an issue until now. So wtf?

My U11 also suddenly hit this issue yesterday afternoon while the phone was just lying on the table. One minute it was working just fine (I was on my laptop chatting via whatsapp web linked to the phone), next minute both SIM card not detected, wifi cannot turn on, IMEI & baseband gone. If I tried to enter Mobile Data option in setting, a popup com.android.phone ANR appeared. Tried everything except Factory Reset but no use. What did actually happened?? The phone wasn't even overheated or fell down. It was almost 3 years (purchased on Dec 2017) but so far never got any problem, not even lagging, there's not even a crack in the body.... Very2 frustrating :(
Please share any updates on the issue.. in the meantime I shall backup everything first and tried the factory reset sometime tonight. Thanks in advance!

This is also interesting. I'll check my baseband. I don't know if it's also gone. But goodthing we have a guide to restore it. But I think its the battery. It's more than just a battery as I learned already.
So it has heatmanagement system and stuff like that. I hope that my ordered one comes faster than prognosticated.

Don't do factory reset if baseband is gone. I did it and it won't help. I'll give feedback if baseband restore will help. If yes, then it's good to go, if no then...
My phone is also almost 3 years old (November 2017).

Thanks a lot for saving me from major headache of factory reset! Looking forward on the baseband restore outcome.
Luckily managed to revive my old M7 to put the sim cards on, so both my sim cards are working just fine.
When I retrieved my U11 box, I remembered the phone died just a month after purchase and I sent for warranty repair on Jan 2018. They changed the motherboard and in the service note it was written that IMEI 1 number was changed as well, however the note didn't mention anything about IMEI 2. Is there anyway to check what was the IMEI of the phone before the error happened?

edit: found out that IMEI 2 = IMEI 1 + 8 (i think). And when I run bootloader in download mode, I can still see the device barcode & IMEI 1 correctly. Will try to perform IMEI & Baseband restore this weekend and hope it can revive the phone. Anyone has the QCN backup for HTC U11 to share?

Now I stuck on...first step. I don't know yet how to enable diagnostic port. I know how in theory but in practice I have problems with SU. I know what to do to not to have "permission denied" in ADB, but now I need to install matching adb version. After that maybe I'll run diagnostic port finally.

Welp, not the update I'd like to give, and certainly not the outcome I would prefer, but my WiFi and mobile signal is not coming back regardless of CPU and battery temp.
IMEI and baseband is still there so that's not the problem.
Rest of the phone is operable, but without the internet, Android is basically useless.

So, any apps I can use to transfer data to another Android via USB only? :(
