Thought I'd chime in on this also! I have a similar issue, I have wifi signal but it will not connect to AP, I dont know if I have sim issue since i have only used as wifi for a while. My u11 is physically unmodified, i have only installed twrp w/o root.

So after many things which I've done I recover baseband and IMEI numbers from 0. But now I stuck on WiFi issue (MAC 20 00 00 00 or something like this - it means it won't work). Also my sim is recognized by phone (it can tell me when I'm taking it from phone and when I insert it again) but there is no any connection to provider. For some time it was only H+ w/o LTE. So I think that maybe it's hardware issue with antennas. Later I'll try to open my phone and see how it looks like inside for the first time. When I'll figure it out and where is the problem I'll write about it.

I tried to change MAC address of WiFi but with no success (editing wlan_mac.bin, changing configuration file, putting WCNSS_qcom_wlan_factory_nv.bin to folder). Because I have no LTE (previously I had VoLTE on and now I put whole customize folder from backup), signal drops to 2G, 3G, and H+, second SIM card is visible but no connection I think that it might be hardware problem. I don't want to open phone 'cause as JerryRigsEverything showed, it will be hard to close it again and it'll lost waterproof but what else I can do. And I don't like to spend a lot of money to buy new phone.

Looks like many got expired hardware at same timeframe :(
Really can't believe this, my 7 year old M7 is still running even with half dead battery and slow response due to obsolete android version. I expected U11 to have better hardware and durability  My U11 battery is still running, though not as strong as brand new (of course). I just need to recharge once at around 4PM for normal use. But now it's a potato.

Do you mind sharing the steps you did to restore IMEI and Baseband please?
Also can show me where to find a backup of U11 QCN file?

Thanks in advance!

Hey,
so first I wanna tell that after opening my phone (hairdryer is pretty handy in this operation) everything seems fine. I learned that my battery is from 16th of September of 2017. Everything is in place plugged as it should be etc. So this step did nothing to my phone except that now it will be easier for dust to go inside the phone.
Second, my steps:
First: you must download and install programs and drivers that are specified here: https://www.androidbrick.com/ultima...agon-xiaomi-mi5-imei-and-baseband-repair-fix/ . Commands you should type in adb are here: https://tutorial.angle360.tech/2020/03/htc-u11-imei-repair-instruction/
Second: because I had mismatch in adb versions I downgraded it by android studio to Oreo. Remember to use powershell (or cmd) with administrator privilege and run it from adb path.
Third: when you use Magisk remember to set su privilege to shell in your phone otherwise you will get "permission denied" in adb on pc.
Fourth: Because I had error 52 in qualcomm diagnostic (901D if I remember) in device manager (driver signature verification fail by Windows) I was forced to run Windows in advanced reboot where you can disable signature verification for drivers (when you click on restart windows you should press and hold shift button and go to advanced and find this option; you should click on that, Windows will reboot then you must choose option 7 and you're good to go)
Fifth: When your phone is in diagnostic mode run WriteIMEI and type your IMEI numbers. When you'll see "pass" then it pass.
Maybe it is wrong but I made qcn from my phone after I used WriteIMEI and I checked in HEX that IMEI are right. In phone after reboot my IMEI numbers and baseband are present. But it took me four evenings to do it and still my phone is fcked up. I can't use WiFi (still MAC 02:00:00:00:00) , first SIM working max. at H+ but many times it's off, second sim isn't working.
I thought that HTC U11 is really good phone and I could use it 'till the battery will be unusable but now I have still working but w/o calling and Internet phone. So it's pretty nice looking camera:).
I hope that someone will tell how to fix the WiFi problem because for now I'm tired to find the good one.

Really appreciate all the efforts which have been made by everybody in trying to fix the issue. This seems like quite a significant flaw, and if it has happened to this many people on XDA, imagine how many more there are out in the wild. This expiration seems awfully suspicious though and I wonder if it'll be worth sending the phone to HTC for them to diagnose.

Just a guick update,, iwas able to get my wifi back by allowing my phone to take ota updates via my data ( that part still worked) and once it updated to pie happy days my wifi came back.. sadly my usb connection to my computer is still whacked it says device not reconized... So i dont know if my problem was the same as i still had a working sim..
And i was rooted, with oreo fw and on lineage 16 at the time that my wifi went haywire..

I had newest Android 9 (Pie) with latest security updates from June 2019 (probably) (for HTC u11). So for me no new updates. About device not recognize - try to reinstall drivers.

have any solutions been found yet? this exact same thing started happening to me as well 3 days ago. service has came back randomly a couple times but as soon as phone restarts itself it does it again. took it to the sprint store today. they gave me a new sprint sim card and that didnt help. my screen is cracked but its been working fine like that for months. they told me to do an insurance claim or upgrade devices

I "found" the solution - I bought Oneplus 8 pro and I'm selling HTC u11. Maybe someone will buy it for parts replacement 'cause everything is in very good condition "only" wifi isn't working and sim 2. Sim 1 is working for time to time.

I bought a new battery and replaced the old one. "No Wifi" Issue still exists and I don't come further the Facility, because my phone is google account locked. :D

So I was able to solve this problem by flashing the oreo RUU from htc, then flashing twrp, complete wipe, and restoring a previous LOS 10 backup. Now my wifi is restored, and mobile data is back to normal.

I downgraded from Pie to Oreo and it wiped my both IMEI numbers. So can you write what version of twrp you used and what if I never used custom ROM and do not have a backup?

After installing twrp and lineage 17.1 still no IMEI is present, no baseband and WIFI not working. I'll set up my IMEI numbers again but Wi-Fi still will be off.
