Hey guys a couple of days ago I asked for help on the Spanish official xiaomi forum but no one could help me so I'm asking you for help.
For the last one to two months Whatsapp calls have stopped vibrating when do not disturb (DND) mode is enabled even though I have my phone configured to let through any calls from anyone. It worked perfectly from Android Oreo till now but it recently stopped behaving as expected.
Regular phone calls work fine with DND enabled:
- If the phone is in ring mode, it rings and vibrates.:good:
- If the mobile is in vibrate mode, it only vibrates. :good:
- If the mobile is in silent mode, it does do not ring nor vibrate.:good:
WhatsApp calls used to work just like regular phone calls when DND is on, but now:
- If the mobile is in ring mode, it rings BUT DOES NOT VIBRATE.:crying:
- If the mobile is in vibrate mode, it DO NOT VIBRATE.:crying:
- If the mobile is silent, it does not ring nor vibrate.:good:
I have not changed any settings on DND for the behavior to change, it change by it's own.
I'm running stock Android Pie with latest January OTA security patch. No fancy commands or advanced things like you guys do on this forum.
Here are some attached screenshots of my settings: WhatsApp has vibration enabled for calls, phone is set to vibrate for incoming calls and DND is set up to let any calls through.
I contacted WhatsApp support and they replied that:
"The vibrations that you find within WhatsApp work differently based on what type of device you are using. For all devices, if your phone is set to vibration mode and your WhatsApp vibration settings are off, the phone setting will override the WhatsApp settings. In other words, your phone will still vibrate or vice versa.
Note that manufacturers may have their own unique vibration settings that may interfere with the WhatsApp notifications. We have no way to control this from our end.".
Given that Xiaomi had been ignoring my bug reports in the Feedback app, does someone have any ideas on who is right and how (if possible) can I fix it. I really use DND because it's a really great feature, I think calls are more urgent than messages.
Also, I tried it in a friend's Mi A2 lite too and I could replicate it on WhatsApp, telegram and signal voice calls.
If no help is possible, could someone replicate it just to be 100% that I'm not making it up?
Thank you
