No way to unlock the phone without bootloader unlock?

Pardon me for asking this question if it has been asked. I just came back from a loooooooooooooooong vacation and my moto G4 has been waiting for me since 07/12, yes, I left the country on the 11th

Per my reading, it looks like the bootloader is NOT unlockable since sometime back in July. Does that mean there won't be any chance to unlock the phone? Even in the future?

If you have the Amazon version (with the Amazon bloatware), that is correct, it can no longer be bootloader unlocked.

If you have the Moto-direct version (with no Amazon bloatware), you can bootloader unlock it still.
