No WIFI upload/download arrows after updating to kitkat?

Hi guys i dont see the WiFi uploading/downloading or out-going/in-coming data arrows after updating my phone to kitkat. I did a factory reset also since many users faced battery drain issue. Battery is fine but i don't get those arrows now. Is it available on your device?
Somebody please help me out.

How come its a feature..It was easy to understand whether there is any transfer of data taking place or not now i have to swipe and check on the toggles screen.

I agree, its annoying now Google have changed it.
