Noise Suppression Setting

My mother-in-law was complaining to me that when my wife calls her on her Droid 3 that she hears some "clicking" or "blips" and it can be hard to hear her sometimes. On my Atrix I have a noise suppression setting that had caused people issues with garbled voice quality so the fix is to turn it off. I tried looking for this in my wife's Droid 3 but couldn't find it. Does the Droid 3 have some sort of noise suppression/cancellation built in and where would I find the setting for it. All I've found is call privacy or something of that nature, but I'm not sure what it does. thanks.
