Just be clear, the true manual update method is:
1. Rename the package to following file name format:
[codename]-[version_after_update]-0-[region_id_after_update]-[branch_and_revision_after_update]-[version_before_update]-0-[region_id_before_update]-[branch_and_revision_before_update]-update.zip
To confirm the "[codename]" and "[version_before_update]-0-[region_id_before_update]-[branch_and_revision_before_update]", you can dial *#*#227#*#* to check version. For example, Nokia 6 sold outside China has codename PLE.
To confirm the "[version_after_update]-0-[region_id_after_update]-[branch_and_revision_after_update]", use text editor to open firmware-update/fver .

Final update package filename should looks like this:
PLE-558E-0-00WW-B01-558D-0-00WW-B01-update.zip

2. Place it to root directory of internal storage.

3. Dial *#*#874#*#* and confirm update.

Has anyone updated their TA-1021 with the zip files on the front page to June/July/August updates successfully ? I opened a TA-1021 May update file on my PC and found that there is a manifest file which has 1021 shown against 1025 for the 1025 update. If the above process works, then after update will the phone show model TA-1021 or 1025 ? Just checking if anyone has actually done this and is working

Took the risk and tried. So, I did June and July updates based on the above procedure (had to check the filenames both times. July update when I tried the code *#*#874#*#* said file not found, but rechecked and found version was B02. Renamed file to PLE-558D-0-00WW-B01-558C-0-00WW-B02-update.zip , and it went okay). The August update came in automatically OTA as soon as the July update was done and phone restarted. So now I am on August update, and the phone ID still shown as TA-1021. Phone seems okay, haven't noticed anything wrong so far. If this helps anyone. Thanks to the team putting the updates out.. :):)

+1. But you can see the TA-1025 branding somewhere in the system folders

I was trying to install by sdcard my 1021 Kuwait mobile but it struck in recovery mode
You were on May update, right? Did you read instructions how to install Oreo OTA updates from SD card?
You need to install downgrade recovery first by installing Dec 2017 OTA, then install June 2018 OTA, then again downgrade recovery, then install July 2018 OTA, etc until you get to the latest patch level. Or you can try alternative method without SD card.

I am currently in 8.1 mi nokia 6 ta 1039 but it stayed in the March patch .. my question is if the update of April 2018 (8.1) works for my model and only placing it in the sd and updating it for recovery will work

thx
