New version 1.4 isn't supported for HTC devices:mad:
"Nokia Drive is not supported on your device..." looks like a game of cat and mouse has begun.

Also, new app shows in Nokia USA, Weather 1.10, but it is just weather channel app.

Friendly reminder before it occurs.
Once the latest app/xap is hacked to work on non-nokias it strays into warez territory as you are removing device specific protection.

My advice, don't upgrade.

Ok a short question:
Why are we allowed to post patched/cracked programms of e.g. t-mobile to get it workin for all others and aren´t allowed to post patched nokia programms to get it workin for all others, like htc or samsung? What exaktly is the difference.

And another one:
Are we allowed to post the unpatched programm?

Nokia Drive, was available on the market place, for free. You just needed to find it and it would've worked.

The newer Nokia Drive, is the same as above, but Nokia has added a protection of sorts to stop the use on non-Nokia handsets. Removing that obviously makes it warez. That you cannot deny.

Are you linking this to the porting of touchwiz and HTC sense? Which AFAIK do not have any type of protection, they just lacked the necessary driver's / framework to function.

The difference is one has to be cracked and the other ported.

no I'm linking to programs wich are locked to a provider like t-mobile, like navigon, wich was patched to work with other providers an which was allowed here till there came a paid version to the Market. What is the difference?

Navigon was allowed, as it was included for free in some carrier shipped ROMs and did not require any payment to work.

It became warez when the app was hacked to access the additional "paid-for" features & additional maps that were not available in the shipped free version.

Forgive me my last argument:
I didn't know that Nokia drive has to be paid.
I was in the mind that Nokia payd it for the users like t-mobile for their users.
Both are free. Or not?

he says that there is no difference in enabling the free tmobile navigon for other devices and enabling the free nokia drive for other devices. both are(were) free und locked to specific devices.

I think your missing the point.

Navigon did not need any "enabling" - It worked fine, the issue with Navigon is that it was cracked/hacked to access the premium features only available to the app bought from the marketplace.

Nokia Drive was/is available on the marketplace for free. You or I can download this legitimately. However, Nokia has added protection to limit the use to Nokia's only. Removing this makes it warez.
