this works... make sure you have correct update-binary file and also script !
There is no error, the screen was just showing applying update, then update aborted, then it stopped. I download the binary file and script from your attachment on OP, are they updated? Thanks

update-binary and updater-script should be supported for your device... add these files from the zip which you already flashed in your phone...

I see, then it's strange, why it doesn't work on my phone. How can we get the log or something similar for troubleshooting?

look,

If im making a zip for miro than i will use update-binary of a ROM which is available for miro like cm10, and other ROMs..
the update-binary and update-script I downloaded from the OP had already been confirmed by ShivangDave that it supports my phone, that's why it's strange why it doesn't work. Any idea bro?

No he meant that you should put the update-binary which supports your device... there are different binaries for different devices... so download a rom of you device and use that update-binary... you can use that zip also... replace system folder and edit your updater-script...

Guys please help me
I am trying to make a flashable zip of my stock Rom
Now I have successful extracted the system folder
I need help with the meta-inf folder
The one in the link doesn't work on my e dual with cwm

So what do I do now

Should I just copy the meta-inf folder of @jjm34 's cm10 for e dual??
Will it brick my phone if I mess the contents of meta inf folder
Plz help

  • Extract system.sin from Xperia Tablet Z 4.2 FTF with WinRAR -> Successful!
  • Extract Data from system.ext4 from system.sin with Flashtool 0.9.11.0 -> Looks like no problem ↓
    10/027/2013 22:27:12 - INFO - Generating empty container file
    10/027/2013 22:27:12 - INFO - File size : 2048 Mb
    10/029/2013 22:29:57 - INFO - Container generated. Now extracting data to container
    10/032/2013 22:32:59 - INFO - Extraction finished to C:\Users\Noob\Desktop\ftf\system.ext4
  • Open system.ext4 with DiskInternal Linux Reader -> ERROR!
  • Open system.ext4 with ext4_unpacker -> ERROR!

I got a 2.00GB (2147483648 Bytes) system.ext4. Is that correct?

Do a full backup: system, data, internal parition, boot.img, everything.
When you are ready to brick and unbrick your phone later, start flashing :)

Although I have not tried this trick on an Xperia device (worked well with Galaxy devices), I guess you may build the flashable.zip directly by extracting the system.ext4 from ftf with flashtool then placing the system.ext4 in your flashable.zip with following commandline added to the updater-script

Code:
package_extract_file("system.ext4", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p24");
