I followed everything and had no problems until the flashing part.

Once my phone is detected as being in fast boot mode, nothing really happens. After awhile, the USB disconnect sound is heard from my computer and the red led light could be seen on my phone, and awhile later, the Sony logo appears and the phone boots up. Nothing was wiped. What could be the culprit? (I am trying to wipe the data and everything else). Just got the phone today.

Question for you geniuses, I debranded my Three locked XZ other day, I've since got it SIM unlocked with three direct. So will OTA updates come through as normal or will they need to be flashed eveytime?? Thanks

I have a flashable ROM in zip format that I want to convert to an ftf file. Do you know how I might go about this? Similar sort of process with flashtool?

I found this tutorial but it's not very helpful, unfortunately. I think the author isn't a native English speaker and a few key points got lost in translation

after creating ftf.. when i flashed it flashtool says no loader.sin so flashing cant proceed.. at the tutorial i didnt include loader.sin to content as stated above.. what did i missed?

Quick question. OP says dont include loader.sin file when creating FTF bundle.

Ok than I have "simlock.ta" file should I left this out or include? I am very uncomfortable with this simlock.ta file. :/

Urgent answer will be appreciated.

and also removing loader.sin caused some problems as someone said above what to do with this? Should we include it or not?

• It contains an old download link for Flashtool.
• It uses Sony Update Service: risk of losing all your personal data!
• It tells you to exclude the wrong file in Flashtool, causing incomplete FTF files.
• It doesn't tell how to correctly specify the branding.

I already mentioned this nearly four weeks ago, but it doesn't get updated.

Therefore I decided to write a better guide which uses Sony PC Companion to download the firmware (much safer) and which contains the right information:

Does your guide apply only for Xperia Z owners or is it possible to use it with other xperia smartphones (i have an xperia mini pro sk17i) ?

It should work with other phones too, as long as you can root them without unlocking the bootloader.

I tried creating the ftf file with above process but if i dont include loader.sin then ftf doesnt gets created.. maybe bcoz loader.sin is not there in devices folder of flashtool.what to do?

If i include loader.sin then ftf gets created but its is just 265mb in size which is less to my expectation.Flashing with this file was not sucessful.Only Sony logo displays. How to create ftf file??
