Also the covers for both models are $25. Not super cheap, but they added a lot of very pretty covers for the HD only a couple of weeks ago!

The ridiculous proprietary 30pin charging cable which is impossible to find anywhere else is also now $15 if people were looking to get another set or can't wait for monoprice to figure this one out

In for 1. I've been eyeing the HD+ after demoing one at Target during the holidays. Price was right, size was right. And a few days ago my Touchpad decided it was done.. great timing.

(add in a $25 B&N gift card I'd been saving and I can now use my existing google apps, $165 w/ tax, quite pleased)

Picked one up yesterday, this is my first tablet, got it for $198 with tax, can not go wrong for this price, fantastic screen, good battery life, not the fastest tablet out there, but for the money and specs it can not be beat. Only issue I have is with the charging cable, not the cable itself but the charging block that plugs into the wall, seems like it is the only one you can use to charge the device, using any other charging block does not work, it also does not charge while pluged into the computers usb port. Otherwise it is a fantastic device, especially now that yu have access to the google play store.

Best Buy sells the 32GB model for $199.99.

The HD+ may have its limitations but a 1080p screen and 32GB memory for $199 is pretty good.

HD+ AC adapter is 5.1V/2A. I tried using HD+ cable along with the Nook Color's AC adapter (5V/1.8A) and the combo also works, ie the amber light comes on, and it says charging in the UI. Probably charges a bit slower. A Nook Tablet's AC adapter would probably work as well.

I tried a 5V/1A adapter and no amber charging light.

>Any idea whether it has 2A rating combined or for each USB port?

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, an adapter's amp rating always means the overall rating, not a per-port rating.

Got mine at Target

I just picked up a Nook HD+ 32GB at Target for $199. Then saved an extra 5% with my Target Red Card. Ran over there on my lunch break, so I haven't had time to play with it at all. Can't wait to get home tonight and charge it up! It will definitely be a step up from my Nook Color with CM7.

They offered a 2-year extended warranty plan for $17. I don't normally go for those plans, but this one seemed cheap, and I already saved over $100 on the Nook, so I bought it. Maybe if nothing else, I can get a new battery out of it in a couple of years (the woman at Target specifically mentioned that it covered the battery). Anybody else buy an extended warranty plan on their Nook (or other tech, for that matter)?
