If you have CM on SD you can restore a backup. But if you only have stock, you must wipe and start fresh.

Sent from my Nook HD+ running CM10.1 on emmc.

It would be too huge, since I have all my apps installed *that would, some not compatible" totaling 22GB. One thing I notice though is the 10.1 apparently changes the sd for internal data installs to the external card. I use the external as a swap for higher def movies, PSX roms, MAME and comics. Having to always leave the same card in is not a practical option for me, so I guess I will stick with 2.1, Nova and the Extras.zip. :)

I like being able to swap cards, so prefer the storage of app data to remain in the device and is why I got the 32GB model. I am glad I read the emmc thread, since would have missed that and been a major "Doh!" moment for me.

You can use Titanium Backup to back up the installed apps on stock and restore them to the newly installed CM10.1. It is just a nandroid backup and restore you cannot do. And of course you cannot restore the system app settings with TB.

UPDATE: After playing dungeon hunter 4 for 2-3 hours the Nook HD+ became quite warm just like the stock.
Also I had a weird problem, the touch interface stopped working in game and I had to use the N button to go back to desktop.
But then the 3 standard buttons and anything on the home screen also don't work.
The solution: Turn off the display using the power button. Turn it back on and everything worked again.
Not sure if the problem was due to overheating. But at least I didn't have to reboot...

At least two things can cause that. Heat (most likely) and a glitch that made the os think the card got unmounted. A little time and a device restart would fix both.

I have learned to luv stock, since need to swap cards. Leap's efforts make luving stock fairly easy :)

As far as heat, the HD+ does get up there to some degrees. Mainly 3D games.

Actually, a restart is not required. I only had to turn off the display and turn it back on. And dungeon hunter 4 is a 3D game indeed...
I think it could be worse if I play Wild Blood... It's even more graphic intensive... even the nexus 7 gets quite warm with those games.
However I never had any similar problems with Nexus 7.

I have flashplayer install from playstore without root. Install Appbrain app market from playstore -> open appbrain -> in the search box, type flashplayer 11 -> select and install flashplayer 11 -> appbrain will automatically switch to allow installation playstore and plashplayer.
Sorry for my english is bad.
