Nook HD+ sync Settings

I have put the play store on my nook, but have not rooted it.

The problem I'm running into is gmail sync.

Sync Is not in the settings for anything other than stock bn accounts.

For some reason sync for my gmail account is off and I'm not sure why.

I've tried to turn it off from within the gmail app, but the app crashes every time.

Does anyone know a good way to turn gmail sync on?

I have the same issue on my rooted hd. Manual syncing Gmail works, but auto-syncing won't turn on. Google Reader is auto-syncing just fine. You can use the B&N email app with your google account and that will sync. But I would prefer to use the Gmail app.
