Not a single one of the countless custom rom I've tried is smooth. Any suggestions?

Alright, I've installed countless roms, countless kernels over the 2 years I've owned this.
I cannot stress enough the dissatisfactory results I've gotten throughout all this time.
Android One is a glitchy, slow, broken mess, and the custom roms are too.

I don't know if it's just how it is on the 3GB, I got a defective, or maybe too many apps, but, the apps one I'd doubt, since in the middle of install, 33 out of 100+, Bliss was running like arse, with not even a 360p Youtube creepypasta being able to be played without one or two freezes every 10 seconds.

I've used all Android One versions, I've tried every single custom ROM based on Pie, I also used many of Q ROMs, and maybe I'm extremely lucky or you're extremely unlucky cause I didn't had any problems with bugs (bugs mentioned by devs were here) or performance. Only problem I had was with battery life in some Q and some P ROMs, also i wasn't able to get Android One 10 to work.

Sincerely I think this might be because of your numerous apps, since you use the 3GB model, it also means you have the 32GB rom, and 100+ apps would fill that memory to the brim even with SD card inserted. I don't know what apps are you using, but can you try testing my theory on a rom that's claimed to be stable and have good performance with at least 50% memory free? 3GB of ram should still be sufficient to run the necessary things.

For example, I am not quite the power user, and my memory is always >50% free on the 4/64 model and never had any problems. I once downloaded a lot of offline maps for a trip, that got my memory up to 80% and indeed I could feel a lot of slow downs, and when I freed up the device, performance was back.

Have you tried POSP?
