Sorry guys for my late answer!
I have to apologize, the battery I ordered was fake, at least I now think that. My new battery is a real Oem one, so, it's thick and theres no way to remove this thickness

So I lost wireless charging and Nfc, and my phone is close to flat at the back (still a bit round) but I didn't have to grind anything, the battery board sits on the side, not on the top or botton, gonna upload some photos later here.

My Sot increased a lot, i now get 5h easy with a lot of usage (pdf file editing) bc i'm using it in University.

and the sot gets better and better because of callibration
(resettimg the battery stats file isn't all, obviously that's only a log file)

so yeah, when you don't need wireless charging, buy a battery for our lovely nexus 5, this phone is awesome!
battery link plz!! :silly:

I just checked my "thick" one (bought by mistake before getting flat one), definitely not a plastic piece for my bump.
First off, it was super hard to get under the wrap, found out it was because mine didnt have an "extra" piece on top of the foil wrap for the battery, I had to open the foil itself to see the bump.
An exacto knife and, ofc, one spark later, I found the bump is actually layers of copper connected to the control board...
I feel yours was basically a flat battery with the plastic in to make it look like the non-flat ones.
This is pretty interesting.

Wait a minute here !

So to summarize, there are different types of batteries out there:
- OEM Nexus 5, I mean the original one (2300mAh),
- flat LG G2 battery (3000mAh), that you can use to mod the N5 after a little bit of dremmel work,
- real bumpy LG G2 battery (3000mAh), that you can also use to mod the N5 but you lose NFC and wireless charging (right ?),
- ... fake bumpy LG G2 battery ( xxxxmAh), where a piece of plastic makes it look like a bumpy one ?

So what was exactly the fake bumpy one ? A flat LG G2 disguised as a bumpy one or something else ? With a 3000mAh capacity ?
You ended up installing a real bumpy one right ?

I have a bumpy one, is there a way to figure out if it's real one or a fake one, without killing it if that's a real one ?

The one with the plastic bump is fake around 1800mah tested with accubattery pro
The only way to know for sure, without killing the battery is to do the mod and test how much mah is or how much SOT you have, you can do it without closing the back cover, you can use some case, but you will not have wireless charge NFC vibration and wifi, during the test.

So let me be sure I understand correctly:

The LG g2 battery can be used on the nexus 5 without using a dremel to fit it inside?

From the pics it looks like the connector is on the left side, but the nexus 5 has the connector on the right - is this just the specular image created by the camera?

From what i was able to understand by researching: you do need to 'cut' a bit of aluminium from the back of the nexus 5 in order for the G2's battery to fit nicely.
Also, you have to adapt the battery connector somehow, beacuse it's a bit offset.
The best, most complete tutorial i found so far, is this one on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Nexus5/comments/2yr8q2/swapped_my_nexus_5_battery_for_the_battery_from/

It is very detailed and has pics. The only to be better is if it was a video, IMO...

UPDATE GUYS!!

the Lg G2 battery I ordered was original BUT it was so old that it had not enough capacity left, the other problem was that I lost wireless charging an NFC

But a while ago I got a dead phone from ebay for about 20€
And it has a battery of 2016

I will open a Thread when I have time, so stay tuned!

MY PHONE HAS INSANE BATTERY LIFE NOW

WARNING this battery was produced a while ago, even if you get an new one, it's old because it was lying around a long time now (decreased capacity, phone turns off while still at about 20-40%) ---- And, the battery I described im this post was a fake one. Later I purchased a original one, but it had the same life in it like my old nexus 5 battery

I'm gonna open a new thread soon with an updated guide, and a new battery by another phone
There it is! https://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/accessories/nexus-5x-battery-bl-t19-2700mah-battery-t3739848

Long life nexus5!

below is the old guide, you have been warned, I really don't recommend it anymore

I bought a new Lg g2 battery from Amazon because my sot was really short. You guys know the problem with those too fat batterys, so I ordered one that seemed to be flat.

I got a thick one seen here http://tanstartrade.ca/images/LG%20BL-T7.jpg

Okay, I thought, well then i don't have wireless charging ans NFC

But when i removed the layer on the battery, this is what i found: http://imgur.com/a/XJyJm

Cool I thought, that's just a piece of plastic that can be removed. My battery is now flat as it should be and you can do the same, if you still rock a Nexus 5, love this phone so much!
Were you able to close the back cover perfectly using BL-T7 inside?
