34, but thanks.

Why do you ask? Is consequential determination of cake something that confuses you? I don't look at raw numbers and determine what consequential values are appropriate, and even if you do, you should be looking at all the specs not just battery size.

5,000mah with a 6.9" screen running at 120hz and 1080p and a fast processor with lots of RAM will mean less battery life compared to a 5,000mah battery and a mid range processor and much less RAM on a 5", 60hz, 720p screen.
How old are you, 5?
Dennis Looks at raw number of "7 hours of screen time"..
Dennis argues that he doesn't look at raw numbers...

Get outta here.

I guess this being a Note 10+ forum the question is based on your experiences of the N10+ but I am coming from an S8+ and considering either the Note 10+ or the S20 Ultra. I get a new phone for work every 3 years and I'm due a new one soon. Ideally I'd wait for the Note 20+ (or whatever they decide to call it but Sept/Oct is too far away. So...

Note 10+ Pros:
Square edges (not a fan of the rounded corners of the S line even though I have one currently)
S Pen (I used to love it on my Note 4 all those years ago and will probably be using OneNote a lot more in the future)
Not as tall, heavy or bulky

Note 10+ Cons
No 5G (yes, I know there's a 5G variant but it's not an option for me with the models available through work)
No 120Hz (not a big issue right now but this tech will be ubiquitous from now and in 3 years my display will be stuttering!)
Slower processor (Exynos - ugh! I know it's the same on S20 U in Europe but the rumour is that Samsung will switch to Snapdragon in more regions)
LPDDR5 RAM on the S20 U (you might say it makes little difference and I will disagree with you!)
Camera (sure the quality is not that great on a S20U but that will no doubt be improved with software updates. The camera is not a huge feature for me but still...future proofing!)
Smaller battery (the extra has got to make a difference and I travel a lot so having a longer-lasting battery is important especially when it invariably starts to degrade after 2 years)

I'm leaning towards the Note 10+ as the pros of the S20 U over the Note 10+ aren't huge. I do wish I could wait for the Note 20+ though!

You are better off with the Note10 Plus, S20 Ultra camera is horrible especially the focus, also focus most likely isn't a software bug, it's hardware, so Samsung can try to cover it with a software update but i don't think that will fix it, anyway the choice it's yours.

7 hours screen on time is not a raw number, it is a derived number from......wait for it, running the device with the screen on. The mAh of the battery is a raw number, a number not derived from anything.

Good try though.

I have both, and yes the S20U has some auto focus issues, but so far I like the camera set up better overall. The auto focus hunts a lot more than other cameras in phones, but there is always touch to focus and if you're used to a DSLR the auto focus isn't bad.

I never used my N10+ camera much, just didn't give me pictures I liked. I need to play with the S20U over the weekend to see if the pictures are better for me.

I think the updatesn(as with honestly every phone) between generations is small. I do like the size a little better on the S20U and the screen. Other than that the phones are very similar.

Awesome! So it's a derived number that you're treating as a raw number.
If it's derived, then it's not always going to be 7 hours.
I doubt it'll be 7 hours and if is, it's by letting the screen do nothing in store mode but burn in the oled. Real life use is going to destroy that battery.

I find it funny that people think more pixels is better, there's a reason phones have been mainly around 12-16 MP. Physics, the aperture on phone cameras is too small to capture higher resolution than 12-16 MP. Anything more is just efficiency boost for low light conditions. So printing doesn't matter they will all come out the same. If you want to actually take good photos get a real camera, phone camera is supposed to be just in the moment quick snap.

Please, explain exactly how a higher refresh rate will change stand by battery life? Because I'm certain the change will be only when the screen is on. But sure, its probably terrible battery life (mine is at 79% sitting with 0 signal for most of the last 6 hours with 30 minutes screen on time) because you think 7h of SoT in a battery rundown rest is absolutely terrible.

Two weeks ago I had the choice to get the galaxy note 10+ or the galaxy s20 ultra and i just went with the note 10+ which I just received on March 4 . Even though the s20 has a newer processor and has the 120Hz refresh rate I just couldn't leave out the s-pen which can come in handy when it comes to signing documents or editing photos or videos.

I went from a Note 9 to the Note 10+ and I'm happy with my purchase.

I think you made the right decision going for the Note 10 plus over the S20 Ultra.

I definitely did and after checking my device info for my phone which is the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 10+ 5G, it seems I got the snapdragon 855+ processor instead of the regular one, which is a bonus.

:)

My conclusion to this thread subject: Note10+ weights 196 grams and S20 Ultra 222 grams so, for about 1 more ounce of a phone with faulty camera and old fingerprint sensor I was willing to pay almost $1000(512GB) and lose my Note 10+ as a part of the trade. Call it a temporary lapse of reason.(or worse)

Wow time flies! Yeah too bad Samsung locks these devices and custom T-mobile network bands mean we have to use the US models :(

Glad to hear from you :)
