Also, I'm assuming the Note 20 ultra does not have the quick setting icons on the pull down menu?

It is there for me, I just used smart switch from my S20U and it set it all up on my Note 20U to how it was on my 20U

Silly question....does this affect the ability for the screens refresh rate to tunnel down ? Example being samsung said the screen Will and can go as low as 1hz refresh when it can to save power?

refresh rate 96 hz

Bonjour,

Translation: Hello,
Over the past two days, I have noticed an improvement of around 2 hours of additional battery life since I set the refresh rate to 96 HZ.
Visual side, I do not see the difference with the 120 HZ
But the difference with the 60 HZ is visible and I would never go back with a 60 HZ phone.

I continue the tests because it is quite new.

96hz or not battery is still drained alarmingly fast. I've put it back to 120hz and hope drain will be reduced in future firmware updates.

I agree, there's a test on youtube with the s20 ultra. 96hz vs 120hz. 120hz died first, but 96hz had 6 Percent left. I don't think it's worth it.

I tested this over the past 2 days and then uninstalled it. Not saying it doesn't work but not seeing any major benefit for my normal use.

I tried to keep everything as much the same as I could... no new apps, didn't play any games because I knew I wouldn't have time to play the same amount each day, 4 hours of 5G cell for each test and then the rest wifi, VPN always connected, etc

Both tests were 100% to 30%...

On 120hz variable I got 17h46m UP with 4h36m SOT

On 96hz I got 17h58m UP with 4h30m SOT

    Hi All,

Seems like Samsung has added some trick to their Note 20 Ultra, beside the Adaptive refresh option.
    = Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has a hidden 96Hz display mode=

Normally, adaptive refresh rate from display sesstings in Galaxy Note 20 Ultra allows the phone, based on the actual open application to refresh the screen from 1hz up to 120hz.
With this 96hz hidden option you can restrict the adaptive refresh rate to work from 1hz up to 96hz allowing your phone to prolong battery life.

Nice! but why do this? Imagine spending so much money on a phone to run it at 96hz
If it's anything like the S20U then it surprisingly makes a significant difference in battery life, and can not tell the difference between 96hz and 120hz. On my S20U I got almost 2hrs more SOT running 96hz. Will give my Note 20U a couple weeks before I post results on the Note20U though.

Probably to save a little battery but still have the option of more then standard 60hz. Having different options is always a good thing.

Thanks. Now only if we could force 96hz and at 1440p.
