Problem with 4G LTE Speeds after updating

After successfully updating to KK and using it for over a week I've noticed that my 4G LTE DL and UL speeds have noticeably decreased. I had no problems during the update process and everything else is working fine so I'm not sure what the problem is.

I was wondering if I flashed the ROM and NC2 Firmware/Bootloader again might it help? Has anybody else experienced this problem? Is there something else that might help? I'm really at a loss as to why this happened.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

If you're on NC2 leak, flashing the NC4 modem/boot loop fix is fine. Whether or not you'll get big benefit from it is questionable and debatable. Try it and see how it goes :D

Well, finally...success!

I must have had a bad download. I re-downloaded the files straight from Beans' thread and the install went perfectly. I didn't need a custom ROM installed, just the stock rooted MJE. I'm now installing Baja ROM...

Thanks az_biker!

Question/Problem

I know that this doesn't necessarily pertain to this ROM thread, but the last thing that I did was install this....

The installs on everything worked flawlessly, however, my [email protected]$$ went to reboot, and in the selection screen, where it says, "reboot, hot reboot, recovery, and shut down", I accidentally hit the recovery selection. I have to admit, that I was doing this in the car, so yes, both stupid and dangerous... It is now continuously cycling, saying "recovery booting" in blue at the top left hand corner, and then doing nothing else. I pulled the battery, the SD card, and the SIM card, but I cannot get it to stop. I really hope that I didn't brick my phone. Someone PLEASE help me ASAP! It is both my personal and work phone. I am sitting at a Fed Ex Office center right now composing this. PLEASE!

Pull batt, hold vol down, home, power button, boot into download, cancel

Unfortunately, nothing works. It just goes to the first line in the script it is trying to run, and just keeps going. Recovery booting....restart...recovery booting....restart, over an over and over.

After banging it on the counter a couple of times at work, I got it to reboot. Next question...Why does the rom not have Verizon voice mail?
Most of these ROMs are "clean" ROMs, so the devs get rid of apps that they don't use. You can install the NC4 Verizon Visual Voicemail apk from here:

http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358542866

Copy it to your system/app folder and make sure permissions are rw-r-r and reboot your phone.

I installed this apk and it does not work. All I get is:

Sorry, we're having trouble setting up your service. Please try again later. If you still can't set it up, contact customer service at 800-922-0204 and tell the operator the error code is 9009.

When you install the new version, Verizon has to reprovision your Voicemail. It takes about 5 minutes. Just close the VVM app, wait, then run the app again. It will guide you through setting up VVM again. You won't lose your messages.

Tried about 20 times since last night. Same thing.... Should I do a wipe and start all over from scratch?

The message "Sorry, we're having trouble setting up your service. Please try again later. If you still can't set it up, contact customer service at 800-922-0204 and tell the operator the error code is 9009"

is from Verizon, and seems to be an issue with voicemail provisioning. I doubt that wiping and starting over will help, as I don't believe that its an issue with the app itself. Try calling the number and giving them the error code. Hopefully you will be able to talk with someone who will be able to reset your voicemail. The first time that I ran the VVM app I got the same message. I just waited and then the next time I logged in I had to set it back up (chose a password, choose whether to subscribe to premium VVM or free VVM, etc.). Then my messages downloaded (with free VVM you're limited to 25 messages AFAIK, so I had to delete some old messages).

One thing to try, although I wouldn't hold my breath, as I still think that its an issue on Verizon's end is to go to Settings>Application Manager>All>Voice Mail and clear data and cache.

Just tried another USB cable and it worked. The cable I have tied to my computer has always worked, I guess it's just old and tired. It didn't suspect the cable since I was able to transfer files to and from the phone an Odin detected it... Time to trash this one!

Sorry for the panic moment!

Glad you figured it out :good:

I was gonna' say,..

Check that you're battery is charged

Check the cable

Then try to download the file from Beans' thread. I had a bad download that flashed but wouldn't boot.

Did you try installing your earlier version of ss and enabling it? I've gone from 3.65 to 3.71 by just opening apk and replacing it. Don't know if you can go down one.
