Not understanding these steps

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT OR HOW I DO THESE STEPS. PLEASE

"Verify That You Are Running A CUSTOM 4.3 Rom AND Using SafeStrap 3.71 or earlier

- Boot into stock slot (SS 3.71 or earlier)

- Wipe Stock Slot "Swipe To Factory Reset" (I also wiped INT DATA for fresh start)

- Install De-Odexed or Odexed NC2 zip or Baja Rom KKv1 (from sdcard) (Keep your eyes open for additional 4.4.2 Roms)

- DON'T hit reboot, hit back arrow twice, hit REBOOT, choose DOWNLOAD"

If you don't know whether or not you're running a custom rom, I strongly suggest you rethink going through this process. (said with sincere, respect)

If you want to continue, read on :

Custom Rom: settings>about phone>build number (will likely say a custom name, not just a bunch of random numbers

Safestrap: pow off phone. When powering up, you should have a screen with 'Recovery' and 'Continue' choices (if not, no safestrap) if so, choose recovery and version should be at top of recovery screen

Let me get to my laptop... To finish this

I do know what a custom rom is however i was confused because the developer made it seem like you could use any verizon note 3 stock but these steps are for a custom rom phone? i have stock.

Yes, you must be running a cust rom AND safestrap 3.71 or earlier. Simply having a rooted device is not enough. I'm getting on my pc shortly where I can communicate 100 times better and faster. Gimme a few min

I just used vroot to root my girlfriends phone a couple days ago. Also I think Kingos older version works to root too.
One your rooted and install Safestrap you can follow the directions in this thread to get on the rooted leaked 4.4.2 build.

You need to follow these two threads, to the letter. It might sound a bit overwhelming, but the ENTIRE reason I put these together is because there really WASN'T a detailed step by step when I Rooted my GN3 (at least not that I could find).

First, let's get your device to the point where it's ready to update to KK 4.4.2... this requires it to be rooted, a custom 4.3 rom installed, and safestrap 3.65/3.71 installed

READ and THEN follow these steps:

How To ROOT, Install Recovery & Flash Roms On Verizon RETAIL Note 3

THEN, if you want to jump right into KK 4.4.2, READ and THEN follow these steps:

How To Update From JB 4.3 To KK 4.4.2 On Verizon RETAIL NOTE 3

Myself and dozens of users have followed these steps with complete success. But read first, follow the step second. If you are NOT positive you understand the step, ASK!

Beanstown106 has said THIS is the KK rom you want to be on, so whole it might be a little daunting, it is most certainly worth it!

I'll be available online for a few hours, so GET ON IT MAN :D

Forgot to answer these:

- Boot into stock slot (SS 3.71 or earlier)

With device off, power it on, choose RECOVERY at safestrap screen (AFTER INITIAL ROOT AND SAFESTRAP 3.65 INSTALL)

- Wipe Stock Slot "Swipe To Factory Reset" (I also wiped INT DATA for fresh start)

Once booted into SAFESTRAP RECOVERY ( not android/device Recovery) you ensure the STOCK SLOT is highlighted RED, hit the SLIDER for a FACTORY reset (make a nand back up of the stock rom first just in case :)

- Install De-Odexed or Odexed NC2 zip or Baja Rom KKv1 (from sdcard) (Keep your eyes open for additional 4.4.2 Roms)

On the SECOND thread I posted **Update to 4.4.2*** download either the odexed, deodexed, BajaRom (links for all three provided) and place the cust rom file on your EXT sdcard

- DON'T hit reboot, hit back arrow twice, hit REBOOT, choose DOWNLOAD"

After INSTALLING a rom in SafeStrap, you have the option to REBOOT at the bottom of that same screen, but this reboots to the ROM, you need to reboot to DOWNLOAD, DO NOT HIT REBOOT from THIS screen, BACK ARROW TWICE, choose DOWNLOAD, then REBOOT, and you'll get there :D

The link to Safestrap includes ALL his version 3.65, 3.72 which are the only two you'll need, SAME link, different files.

IN the ROOT thread it explains how to quickly flash chainfires latest SuperSU just to add a little warm and fuzzy for those concerned about a Chinese spy on the other end :D

It DOES look like a lot if you've never done it. I came from two years of crack flashing my Gnex, and felt like a complete novice again with the different processes to root and flash roms on the GN3.

Read, follow, ask if unsure :)

You need BOTH those files. 3.65 is JB and 3.72 is KK.

They're both found at the same link, but are TWO DIFFERENT files.

If your still on 4.3 mje build use safestrap 3.65. Install the SS apk then install recovery. Reboot your phone and you should get the SS splash screen. When you see the ss splash screen hit recovery.

When using SS 3.72 for kitkat you will not be able to boot into SS recovery from the app yet.
Must restart phone to go into recovery
