Okay your last post you said you were on 4.3 then this post you say your on 4.4. Which is it? Because you have to use 3.72 if your on the rooted 4.4.2 build.

Both neither works

okay well if your still on jellybean 4.3 then ss 3.65 is what you wanna be on.
Are you using your power button on your phone to restart or are you tapping reboot to recovery in the safestrap app?[/quote]

i used both power button the restart phone and reboots nothin

in the app i hit reboot into recover and nothing reboots and black screen then to custom lock icon to desktop nothing will not go into safe strap

Hi there everyone, been having some problems with this.

I was on stock rom foolishly and seemed to have bricked my device, as after I used Odin to install the n900v_kk md5 file and rebooted, I get a black screen. I can get into downloader mode though.

Now I'm going to try to use Odin to install stock verizon MJE back, but will this work? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you had a bad download of something honestly.

I just did this three hours ago. Stock rom only rooted. No problems. No need to be on a custom rom or anything to do this. System gets wiped regardless when you flash beans. I always wipe system beforehand anyways though before flashing any rom, old school flasher.

Yes, start from scratch with mje in Odin (see root note 3 link in my sig for files) then see KK NC2 link in sig :)

I'm sharing a DO NOT TAKE VZW OTA UPDATE reminder BeansTown106 posted with the roll out of VZW new OTA:

dont take the update.. i will provide a safe way to update and keep root and a way to be able to revert to the old kernel with the insecure modules for when kexec starts working if it cooperates..

Again i Highly advise against the update if u ever want root/roms/possibility of kexec aka aosp roms

Is it really necessary to be running a custom rom to do this? From what i gather it seems like is a safety net in case something goes wrong with the installation of 4.4.2 to the stock slot is this true? Trying to update a rooted stock w/Xposed note 3 here.

Stock rooted is fine. By custom I believe he means rooted. Use safestrap 3.65 to flash the odex or deodexed 4.4.2 build then odin the firmware.

Did the instructions address all the steps clearly and accurately?

Would you add or change anything?

I'm pleased to know you felt this was a simple process.
