I haven't read everything in this thread but I just bought puffin browser and it said to uncheck force GPU rendering. Well regarding lag and stuttering it's gone! no more lag when locking and unlocking the phone. Kinda sad that a feature I used a lot with s3 with no lag.. lags my n3..

That's strange because GPU rendering is turned off by default. I'm not a fan of Puffin because the page is not rendered locally. I would only use the browser for the slowest of devices.

I was having some lag issues once I started using "My Magazine"

Once I force shut and turned it off the lagging went away. I noticed that my magazine would force close right after the lagging and stuttering
I thought turning off/deleting My Magazine caused issues with other apps. Didn't someone say it interferes with the email app? Have you noticed any issues since disabling it?

My apologies what i did was force stop and cleared the data and cache. It removed all of my links and now when I tap the home button from the home page the my magazine app pops up but it is as if I have not entered my info.

I thought I'd add my experience. My wife and I both have note 3's, purchased at the same time. I've had zero issues with mine, but my wife had been complaining about screen locking up recently and not being able to swipe, but using the pen works. So I took a look at her phone and played around with it a bit, and for the first time I saw what she was complaining about. Swiping through the home screens the screen locked up half way, and literally stayed like that until a good few 3-4 seconds. I brought up running apps, but the odd thing was that screen was stuck, as I couldn't scroll thru the entire list or close anything down. Camera app, fb, svoice, and some other apps were on there.
Configuration wise we're fairly identical, although I noticed she had Smart Stay turned on... I've turned it off since.. but still not sure what the actual culprit was. Still a bit concerning.. Warm battery? she tends to leave it charging quite a bit. i'll try to monitor it a little more.

As far as general lag is concerned, I haven't really seen any. only time was when on my phone I somehow had screen mirroring enabled if I recall correctly. A lot of screen updates were a noticeably laggy.. but turned off its smooth as butter. Odd thing is, now when I try to replicate it I cant seem to enabled it without syncing against a device -- so im not sure how I had it enabled previously...

Are you running MI1 or MI9? Have you rooted your phone? Have to tried doing a factory reset? It's possible that one of the apps you installed is doing it so I would try reflashing to stock and see.

I had the same issues and I ended up downloading/installing Google Keyboard and it runs so much smoother. As for the slow response, if you access developer options and check the box for "Force GPU Rendering" it should speed up the overall experience as it did for me.

Hopefully that helps you a little.

This may be a stupid question...

Or perhaps the answer...

Do any of you have "power saving" mode on?

By default it enables when the battery drops below 20%, but doesn't automatically disable once charged again.

I disabled it entirely (i'll enable it myself if I need it, thx samsung. lol), and noticed that while it was on, I was maxing out at 1.7 ghz... DERP.

Was lagging before, but now I'm good. =)
