Note 7 Deal, Is It Really A Deal?

I did indeed get it in writing via a chat with a Samsung rep. I also spoke to 2 reps on the phone.

I wanted to be positive that they all understood that I wanted to trade-in a Galaxy S3 for the $425 off. The last rep was actually cool and repeated everything I said back to me.

Hope that helps. If not give them a call.
Thanks that's great to hear! I think I'll try chatting with them as well so I can get a screenshot for safety.

Samsung told me that they are allowing any phone...even my broken S6 (screen separating)
Yes, any functional Android or iOS device for the full $425 off.
What number are you guys calling? I have spoken to 4 reps and did one chat. All denying I can trade in my S4.

Got the same response when I used the online chat, they did tell me that I would be able speak with Order Support and they would assist me with paying off my current device (iphone 7 plus) since I was a Note 7 owner. I will give them a call and see how that goes. I honestly think they should have just given Note 7 customers the $450 off without a trade in for all the hassle we went through.

I suggested calling because the folks handling the chat service aren't privy to all of the information. They are simply telling you what they read in the very same offer that you are reading.

I chatted with 3 reps via chat and only one was able to give me the correct answer. When I asked the other 2 where they were getting there information from, they stated the offer themselves. I stressed that I could have done that and ended the chat.

Call (855) 726-8721. That is the sales department in charge of the promotion. As of today, I've talked to 3 different people from that department and got the exact same answer from all 3.

Here is the text from the chat I had with the only chat rep that had a clue. As I stated, I recommend you stick with calling.

I hope this helps.

Damn that's a tough one, cause she never acknowledged the S3, she kinda just referred to being eligible for the -$425 and linked you to the deal page that basically specifies it must be one of those devices.
Hope this gets cleared up asap, cause I'll just keep my Note 3 if i can't get the discount......
Man i really hope this pans out!

I always ask them to notate my account...for future reference...then it doesn't matter...

I think it's pretty dangerous to suggest that phones not on the list are eligible if they "make a note" in your account. We all know that "making a note" means doing absolutely nothing.

After my conversations with 3 different reps from the actual sales promo department, I'm confident that this will go smoothly.

I just sent the S3 back to Samsung today, so hopefully everything will be completed by next week. I'll keep everyone updated.

The promo department also advised me that I'm qualified to use this promotion twice due to having purchased one and exchanging for another during the whole Note7 fiasco. Provided everything goes smoothly with this trade-in, I plan to do another.

Not if you talk with a supervisor and upon returning to the regular rep...you ask them to read the note to you...it ALWAYS works for me...you have to play them and not get off the phone unless it all meshes together...lol

Best of luck is what I'll say. Given Ingram Micro does the trade-ins, you'd need to contact them to "clear the air." It just wouldn't be worth the frustration and time for me to do that.

Yup, hopefully Samsung will bend, cause in reality the note 4 was the "last" note released. The 5 was a joke so was skipped (by me and numerous others) then the 7 fiasco.....its been years since a lasting real note has been dropped.
Think it through Samsung....show the faithfulls some love!

So this might be a "bit" off-topic but I am wondering if anyone can confirm if you can get the $425 rebate even if you buy it through BestBuy (which also offers a $100 or $150 off). I followed the link on Samsung's site after verifying my email and it said I was eligible and I picked the options, etc. and at the end i could click the "add to basket" direct from SamSung (I think it said $949) or there was a "Where to buy" option which brought up AT&T and BestBuy. I clicked the BestBuy link and it brought up the AT&T version in black just like I picked on the SamSung site but I didn't see any indication that I would still get the $425 off.
I did a chat with SamSung which I copied below with a few minor edits. I'm not sure even if you purchase direct from Samsung, do you pay full price and then when they get your trade-in phone, they credit you the $425.00? If you have gone through the process, can you tell if it definitely should not work if buying from BestBuy?

RichMD: I owned a Note 7 and received the email that I am eligible for $425 rebate for trading in a Galaxy S5. I am wondering if I can pre-order it through BestBuy (which offers $100 credit) AND still take advantage of the $425 rebate for Note 7 owners
RichMD: Hello?
Bikshapathi B:
Yes, I'm with you.

OK
Bikshapathi B:
Are you looking to buy the note 8?

yes
Bikshapathi B:
Great!

Are you aware of the details on the Note 7 owners offer?
Bikshapathi B:

There is a separate dedicated team to help you with the note 7 loyal customers. I will share the contact details you can contact them they will instantly help you with the offers.

Bikshapathi B:
I will also share the web link to you where you can get the whole info about that.

I have looked on your site but it doesn't address my question
about whether I can buy it from BestBuy but still get the $425 rebate
Bikshapathi B:
Yes, you are eligible to get the offer even if you purchase it from the Best Buy.

So, how does it work? After I order it, do I submit the receipt online to get the $425.00 and the bonus SD card and wireless charger?
Is there some way I can get it in writing? I have heard multiple different stories on whether I could or not.
Bikshapathi B:
No problem at all. I will share the dedicated team to contact details once you contact them as you are note 7 customer they will place the order behalf of you with including the offers which you are eligible for the Sd card and the wireless charger.

Great.
When you say on behalf of me - is it still through BestBuy?
They offer a $100 credit for going through them which is what I want IF I can along with the $425 from Samsung
If you want to just transfer me to the Note7 loyalist team that would be fine
Bikshapathi B:
Yes, they will help you with that also with the Best Buy.

Bikshapathi B: Yes, I will share the contact details.
Bikshapathi B:

You would need to purchase the Note8 from Samsung Direct in order to get the $425 trade-in offer for previous Note7 owners.

They automatically subtract the $425 at the time of purchase. You have to agree that you will send in the trade-in device or pay the additional charge of $425 if you opt not to.
