It's ok :D
I*m waiting for the same thing: 256GB OEM unlocked, regio-free, DUAL SIM Exynos variant of Note8.

Doesn't look like it's coming.

I may end up buying the 64GB ROM Exynos Dual SIM variant. I have a 256GB sdcard anyway, and there is a simultaneous DUAL SIM + sdcard adapter that works:

http://www.simore.com/en/dual-sim-a...neously-hybrid-dualsim-slot-x-extender-2.html

With this adapter, you can use both SIM slots of your dual sim phone (both active) AND use the sdcard at the same time. The trick is that the extension cable comes out from the sim tray slot and you need to wrap it around a case, outside the phone itself:

Thanks!
Ugly but funtional...

And maybe less battery with it?

Hi Guys

I'm looking for a dual sim phone but keep finding phones where the 2nd sim tray is also where the SD card is used, so I have to pick one or the other.

I've found this model of the Note 8 and am considering buying for use in Canada: https://www.eglobalcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-note-8-n9500-256gb-dual-sim-deepsea-blue.html

Can anyone confirm that this is definitely a dual sim phone as information on different sites are mixed?

Thanks!
It's the China Snapdragon version. If you like modding / TWRP / custom ROMs, that is not your phone. Dual SIM confirmed and the seller you can trust. Ordered two times china phones there without having problems.

Most likely shorter battery life time., yes That's why I'm on the waiting list for the Mophie Juice Pack battery case for Note8. When this is on, the dual sim extender also nicely wraps inside the case + I have enough of battery life to run a full day of work with extremely heavy usage.

So 64GB + 256GB sdcard (400GB is now available too) + DUAL SIM active + 3000 mAh extra battery capacity from the case (without buying those insanely large Chinese 5500-10000mAh cases) + I still get to root, pass SafetyNet checks, run Magisk, Viper4Android and Xposed. Unfortunately there is no cure for the idiotically placed fingerprint sensor, but storage , battery and dual SIM limitations can be somewhat circumvented like this. It's the least bad compromise I can find on the market right now.

I don't care about looks, to me the phone is a work-horse, not a style accessory (I'm not 20-year old any more, unfortunately :) )

Has anyone bought from globalmobile.co.uk (the link on the first post)? Any problems? The price seems to be the best currently in the UK

I'm waiting for it too.

If its 128 or 256Gb, single-sim, don't want the Korean version.

I'm fine with snapdragon version cuz no plans to root for at least 2-3 yrs afterwards.

I'll hold out till middle of next month, just before the black friday deals to avoid the shipping delays then.

Just letting everyone know, I ordered from Samsung UK (yes, pricey, but worth it in the end) in Midnight Black (really wanted this Exynos Dual Sim version) 64Gb. OEM unlock was there and stayed there after root. I'm fully rooted with Magisk on Dr. Ketan's latest rom. 0 issues whatsoever. This is the model's exact info: SM-N950FZKDBTU. I popped in my UK EE pay as you go sim (made a 5 minute call to my bro), then popped in my AT&T sim - everything working perfectly.

If you have any questions about it, let me know. So happy to be back to the Note series. I loved my Huawei Mate 9 and waited on the reviews of the Mate 10 Pro (was very disappointed in it - Note 8 destroys it in every category). :highfive:

I'm going to go against the grain here. I am on Verizon so I'm curious will the dual sim SD versions work on Verizon? I don't care about custom ROMs or rooting..what I want is a dual sim phone so I can run my personal Verizon sim in one and my work ATT sim in the other. Usually international versions don't work on Verizon because they don't have the CDM support but shouldn't the SD 835 have that ? I dont know what else is required.

Are you getting that version just for the official Samsung Warranty?

I was looking into that version too, but its at least $300 CDN more compared to the International Model, both Dual-Sim, after exchange-rate with taxes from where i live.

Same here. Skipped Mate 10 (pro) due to Huawei stupidity and bought SG-N950FD (dual SIM Exynos). Not rooted yet.

Have you tried Viper4Android on Magisk and can you make it work with most audio players and youtube? I don't find Samsung's built-in EQ to be enough for me (can't specify frequencies which to boost).

Note 8 destroys mate 10 pro?? Why u say that?
I didn't say that, you did.

mate 10 pro minuses for me:
- no sdcard slot
- no 3.5mm audio jack
- 1080p only screen (inferior to Note8 screen by any measure)
- overheating GPU that throttles (read gsmarena review)
- camera not that much improved from P10+ that I had
- real life battery stamina loses to Exynos Note8 even with 4000mAh capacity

it is nice phone, I am sure, but has a lot of negatives for me. nothing is perfect.

Sorry, mu quote was wrong. Opasha toñd that.
I need dual sim, so none of them has microsd.

Battery life is bigger in huawey. Not much but bigger.

No need dex station, just a cable, looks so nice if you need it...

Camera... Will see. I think is early to know.

By the way, mate 10 pro maybe works different...

Exynos variant of Note8 has superior stand-by to Snapdragon variant. Snapdragon is more efficient in talk-time and slightly Video playback. This has been tested thoroughly by GSMArena and many others.

The bigger differences are these (assuming factory / OEM unlock on both):

1. You can get SamFail implemented rooting withOUT tripping KNox, but FAILing SafetyNet checks on Snapdragon (currently). This cuts down maximum battery recharge level to 80% (you can't recharge the battery any more to 100%).

2. You can get Magisk implemented rooting with tripping knox, AND passing SafetyNet Checks on Exynos (currently). You can also get a working Xposed Framework for Exynos (install via Magisk).

These are major differences in usage for advanced rooting users. The performance differences, as per many, many tests, are very minimal (when RAM amount is the same).
yes very true!!, but these days whats the point in rooting anymore.. can pretty much accomplish anything without root.

After a week with nemesis rom. I'm really liking this 256gb N along with 256gb evo :) . Btw it doesn't work with freedommobile. Works great with any other carrier.

On Dr. Ketan's rom, Vipre works just fine. I haven't tuned it and ended up disabling it because I don't need it. Currently using the Magisk Module Sound mod - it's great! Sorry for the late reply.

Wonda mobile currently has it at 799. Trust pilot rating is good.
But finally I think that i have decided not to purchase outside the UK because of the bad experience that i have from my previous note phones.
My note II had a motherboard failure just after 2 years of use and my note edge also had a motherboard failure just 2 months before the end of the two years warranty so it was repaired and now works fine.
Having only one year warranty is quite risky...
I don't know though how much it costs to buy extra warranty for your phone here in UK in order to be covered let's say for 3 years. Anyone knows?
