Iv been looking and looking and not finding anything. New to the Note 8 scene and really really would like root. Is it possible on mine? I purchased it unlocked it was a t-mobile phone and I activated it using verizon. Can someone shed some light on this and possibly send me in the correct direction if there is root possible? thank you. Heres a picture of what im running on the phone.

No root on the SM-N950U with bootloader version 5 that your on. All SM-N950U / U1 / W models are LOCKED BOOTLOADERS! So no twrp, kernels, custom roms, etc.....
Hopefully in a year or two someone will find a way but since note 8 is 2 years old and most dev's moved on to newer devices it might take even longer for root to come. Hope you have time to wait!
Just install Pie.

Android Pie. You have 8.0.0 which is Oreo. Install 9.0.0, which is Pie - check for updates in your settings to download and install it.
