Hi guys

I know some of you prefer the Note 12.2 Keyboard because it offers more features, see screenshot. And the 4.4.2 note pro keyboard is not compatible with lollipop.

So I asked over in the Note 12.2 forums and fellow xda member "thdervenis" was kind enough to provide his .apk his lollipop rom (if you wanna show your gratitude here is the thread).

Do this at your own risk.

1. Root your device.
2. Browse to system/app/SamsungIME and make a backup of that folder (just copy it to your SD card)
3. Rename SamsungIME.apk to SamsungIME.apk.bak, and rename SamsungIME.odex in the "arm" folder (depending on whether you are deodexed or have xposed installed this will be slightly different i think)
4. copy the new SamsungIME.apk from the zip (~11.7mb) to system/app/SamsungIME
5. reboot and enjoy.

cheers

--> Maybe someone with more 1337 haxx0r sk1llz than me can make a nice flashable .zip out of this? :)

I think after Note Pro 12.2 Keyboard is definitively the GO Keyboard the best one.;)
In combination with the Google handwrite Keyboard is it perfect for SM-P600.

I didn't have SamsungIME.odex in arm folder, but the keyboard is working (I'm on stock odexed rom, only rooted).

In the screenshot there are the symbols enabled on all letters. I don't have them. How did you enabled?

Nobody can help me? I started using Xposed, with wanam module. In it there is the option to enable subsymbols for keyboard. I enabled it, but they don't appear. Maybe because it's not the original one?

I'm pretty sure the content of the system app folder depends on what kind of rom you're using. Or more specific if it's stock, deodexed etc. I'm not really a dev myself so I have limited knowledge ;) And you don't really have to rename anything, you just have to replace the SamsungIME.apk. The renaming is just so you have a backup of your stock note 10.1 keyboard, if anything goes wrong.

I'm on a rooted stock rom (XXUDOJ3) with xposed (custom build by wanam / 20151030) and I use both the Samsung Keyboard Alt Symbols and Samsung Keyboard Short Delay xposed mods. They worked right away for me with the note 12.2 keyboard.
Maybe your xposed is not correctly installed? Are other xposed mods working or is it just this one that has issues?

btw: sorry that you didn't get a reply. Since all my devices run perfectly and have all the features I ever wanted (thx to XDA) I don't really come often to these forums these days :)

I'm on a stock rooted too. I never tried "alternative symbols" because it was too old and unsupported on lollipop. But now that you suggested it to me I tried and it works perfectly. Thank you very much!

Is there somebody who is able to change the coloring of the keyboard? Maybe a black or dark grey version would be really nice. Especially for working and reading in low light situations.

I know i'm stirring an old thread, but does someone have the US version of the note pro keyboard apk? I hate having this alternate layout with the '!' and '$' in different places than on a US PC keyboard. Just changing the keyboard input to US doesn't solve this problem unfortunately.

[edit]
So I ported the app myself from a P900 USA firmware. Unfortunately the shifted number row still has "- @ # / % ^ ..." instead of "! @ # $ % ^ ..." . I looked in every XML file but didn't find anything related to this. Except for the layout of the symbols page itself. Anyone know how to change this? The tablet is obviously set to the US locale and language.
