You should unlock bootloader but first I recommend you to backup ta partition that can lock your bootloader again if you need, there's a topic on XDA explaining that, you should look into that.

Alrigt, but I have never unlocked bootloader, I'm not experienced.
Is root necessary for that operation?
You dont need root to unlock the bootloader. That is an official operation Sony allows you to do.

BUT! You will need root with a locked bootloader to backup your TA partition with a tool here on XDA. This means after unlocking the bootoader if you ever decide you want to relock it you have the option to.
If you dont back it up then bootloader will never be able to be locked again. So highly recommended by all here to back it up!

Root first: https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/recovery-root-mm-575-291-lb-t3435214

Backup TA partition: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598
(found this tool as well which should work): https://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/universal-dirtycow-based-ta-backup-t3514236

Unlock Bootloader: Visit Sony Mobile website and follow instructions from them

I backed up Ta partition. I want to load this rom. But I wonder some things.
For last update.

1-) How is camera? Is camera performance worse than MM's (Sony stock rom) camera performance?
2-) Is this rom daily driver?
3-) Is there battery drain,wifi bug,bootloop?
4-) After to load this rom, when i locked bootloader and flashing Drm key; Will bionz,x-reality come back?
5-) Can i load Sony applications(e.g. PlayStation,Music,Lifelog)?

Thanks for replies.

This is not stock rom, don't relock your loader on this or you will brick your device!
You can take any apps from playstore (if you flash it) but every built-in app, into your old sotck, are not present, this rom is AOSP, so pure 'nexus'.

Dear friends, could this ROM be flashed using TWRP, or I should use fastboot on each update? (I have written simple bash script to download updates and update my ROMs by TWRP after ROM download to SD card done with script being run from the phone bash-like shell)

Thanks in advance.

Do you know something for the optimization of the camera with the new kernel? z2 is almost fixed with kernel 3.4
I'm no developer but from my understanding the kernel you are referring to (3.4) isn't "the new one" but actually "the old one". That is, the 3.4 kernel was the one Sony used for its official firmware releases. Then Sony started the unified kernel project that led to the creation of the 3.10 kernel for our devices, this is the one being used for Sony's Open Devices Project (I think for the whole z1 - z3 range but I'm not sure). The 3.4 bringup has been created by developers unaffiliated to the AOSProject in order to deliver a stable Nougat experience for our smartphones and for this reason I don't think these device trees will ever be used by Sony's AOSP and ROMs derived by it.

Kernel 3.4 is old , 3.10 is new kernel,, z2 with nougat aosp and kernel 3.4 has a working camera...

I flashed the latest release. I have had stability problems with play store and apps. Has restarted several times and also remained in bootloop, I had to use several times volup + power.
