Nova Launcher with Oneplus nav gestures?

I am considering a Oneplus 6 but I do not want to give up swipe right for Google feed.

I know I can use Nova and Nova companion to enable this, but does that limit me to using buttons for navigation? I like the way gesture nav on the OP6 looks in demos and the way it frees up screen real-estate.

Navigation preference is not tied to launcher.

Don't give them any ideas, though.

Nova Launcher's ability to define its own gestures (working in addition to the OP6 gestures) can solve a few little problems. For example, I've defined a gesture to call the Google Assistant.

However the animation looks a bit weird to me when you use gestures on any launcher other than stock.

Weird? Do you have any videos or screen recordings to support this claim? Because I, for one, haven't noticed anything of this sort.

Same on AL3, it looks like app fades out two times and launcher loads from scratch
