Welcome to NovaGen, the Android custom ROM combining the best of open source Android

First, I would like to personally thank you for visiting this page. NovaGen combines what is currently the best of Android. Projects like CyanogenMOD, Paranoid Android, AOKP, and some other custom changes are included are all combined into a single ROM for your enjoyment. NovaGen is currently based on Vanilla RootBox.

I spent many hours working on the project and while the project is free of charge for anyone to use, I also accept donations, which motivates me in continuing the development.

Installation

Installation:

• Backup your current ROM
• Boot Clockworkmod recovery
• Perform a factory reset (data and cache) *** THIS IS ONLY REQUIRED IF COMING FROM ANOTHER ROM ***
• Clean dalvik cache
• Install NovaGen zip file
• Install Google Apps
• Boot the phone (1st boot takes a little longer)

Upgrade: Same as Installation with the exception of Perform a factory reset.

Bug Reports:
Bug Reports depend on the type of failure. First search the thread for possible solutions and/or workarounds before reporting.

• Force Close (FC): Provide logcat and a description of the problem
• Reboots: Provide /proc/last_kmsg, bug report, and a description of the problem
• Any other category: Ask on the thread

Bug Reports are available via Settings->Developer options.
Logcat and /proc/lasty_kmsg can be retrieved a variety of ways, just make sure the application has root access.

Known Issues

Known Issues:

• Set custom ringtone produces an error. Currently working on it.
• Some users reported Random Reboots. Currently gathering data to isolate the problem. Awaiting LED turn off test results.
• Some users have reported a tiny white line between Status Bar and Application. Problem appear to be related to DPI and PA.
• Bluetooth icon appears not to respect custom colors.

As far as I know, no, but, I don't use every possible feature combination, so only general usage from you guys can report if any more bugs needs to be addressed...

I was coming from a touch wiz rom to this and had broken wifi after a full wipe. Installed tasks rom afterwards and got wifi back. I didn't go back to this rom yet but I'm guessing wifi will work now.

Love your work keep it up. Rootbox and linaro is a beautiful thing.

Thanks for trying it, but a little more information would have been helpful; like logcat. I am here for you guys, but I need a little help back.

Let me clarify what you just said:

• You were running some touch wiz ROM and lost WiFI
• You installed NovaGen and WiFi did not work still
• You installed Tasks and WiFi was back

In all testing I have done, WiFi has always been stable...

BTW: This ROM is more than just RootBox+Linaro...

Battery icon style issue

Only problem I expected is the battery icon style from statusbar that constantly revert back to stock one. I know it is a know issue from RootBox ROM but I just wanted to tell it's also there on this ROM. Thanks to solve this little problem. Great job thought !

I'll give this a go. For those that are already running it, does Google voice work from the phone app? Some ROM's do while others don't.

Wifi was working on touch wiz. It was only after installing this rom that it broke. I could not get it working from first boot or second. Will get a logcat if it happens later tonight. But I will be coming from tasks rom so I won't be fully recreating the same thing. Ex. It might work fine. Or it could have been bad wipes.

so far my wifi is grey and isnt turning blue, going to try some things and report back

ok so i WAS having a wifi issue but just went back into recovery and wiped cache and dalvik and rebooted and now its fine. hopefully that could help others.
