Hi,

I am sorry, i am not on your PC and i can't see what is going on. I had no clue
you are trying on Lumia 800. Isn't the thread name and all description suggest that
this will work on Lumia 710 only ?

Also i have no problem to detect my 800 here. If there is a problem, i just disconnect
the USB and plug again. NSS wills send command to put the phone in Normal mode
and will show it as available device. If you have all drivers installed and it works
with Zune and NCS, there is no reason to not be detected by NSS.

But on Lumia 800 you can only do flashing and reading basic information from the
phone in Normal Mode, not possible to load the Qcom file, as it is not signed for this
phone.

Hi,

Yes, exactly. But the best way is to start USBView in AutoRefresh mode when
playing with your phone. It will show you exactly what loader you have, what
mode you are in, etc.

Its official MS tool, from some old driver development kit, not provided by MS
anymore, but you can download from the FTDI website:

http://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Utilities/usbview.zip

That tool doesn't seem to do anything when I run it with my phone connected or not, it never loads anything

Hi,

Latest Beta of the series: 0.47.2

- New checkbox in Flash/Settings, allows to select manual restart and battery
value read skip when Restoring phones with mismatched baseband and OS versions
(battery value is wrong/OSBL restart will not work)

It happens that people are flashing manually custom roms (via .nb files), but the
baseband firmware is old, thus not all stuff works, for example the battery level
is read as low, even on fully charged battery. Also the OSBL restart command will
restart the phone but back to Normal Mode, instead of NAND/DLOAD device.

This Beta allows to skip battery check and manually put the phone into NAND
mode before write is performed on Restore function.

I have flashed nand android and wp7 on my old htc hd2 no problem but flashing my new 710 seems rather complicated.

Do i understand correctly that i can use this NSS program to change my bootloader from my current Nokia DLOAD version to the Qualcomm bootloader? If so can some kind soul provide a guide using NSS - eg which boxes to check/uncheck, which files needed and where to put them etc. I am an experienced flasher but for some reason this is all going over my head.

Thank you!

Hi there,

I'm a newbie when it comes to flashing WP7 devices. I have flashed many android devices in my time.

Any chance of providing step by step instructions of how to do this please?

Cheers

Hi,

No need to change computer, no need to format HD. But make sure you have
Zune and Nokia Care Suite installed as there are two sets of drivers needed:

- When booted the phone should make a small 'ping' and show up in windows as
Zune (MS vid/pid) device
- NSS will detect that and will issue command to change to Nokia service mode
- There will be another 'ping' and the phone will show as Nokia USB device
- Then you can see it, issue commands, restart to different modes, etc

Offcourse not all is working perfect, so sometimes is needed to remove the phone
from USB, wait few seconds, plug again, until you see a reaction from the phone.
Also Windows auto driver update will probably fail, so its best to make sure
Zune/NCS are installed and you can communicate with the phone from both(or at
least is visible to them).

Regards

is this tool can be used to flash custom ROM to Lumia 710 ?
or just for downgrading from Nokia DLOAD to Qualcomm BootLoader?
Hi,

Yes, latest version can flash .nb files directly to the NAND os partition.

About the OS backup feature request, when i have some time will check where
is the size stored, otherwise reading 7(15)GB via USB will be too much time wait.
