That generally means the android version is wrong or there is some other incompatibility with the hardware.
You're not referring to the YalpStore itself, are you?
Yes, there is a difference. Only a really old F-droid apk might run. Look a few lines below and you'll see a download link for version 0.28 (about 1 MB). I just downloaded and installed the new version right on my NST. Easypeasy.aren't we supposed to install the 'F-droid.apk' from the link you provided ?
this apk isn't installing ...
or
is there a different Yalp storre apk ?
Does anyone know why, even though i have this rom installed with a factory reset done (and all other wipes), the NoRefresh mode doesn't seem to be working? I spent a whole day trying to get it work by wiping the device, reinstalling rom and such but still when i click the icon in the drawer it only "flushes" the screen once and doesn't enable this mode, it isn't the first time i tried getting it operational. In the NoRefresh settings i can toggle the service to running state, I have white-listed all applications and still no effect. Any thoughts?
Probably the best thing to do at this point is this:
1. Use NookManager's Restore factory.zip function to return your Nook to stock.
2. Update your Nook back to 1.2.1 if it's not already on that version (check Settings > Device Info > About Your NOOK® > Software version).
3. Wait for @yattaro and I to get our update fixed.![]()
Hi. So, if I have 1337 ROM installed in a running state (or not so much so) and I have a NookManager backup, I will be ok to use NookManager, as above, and restore the backup to get the NST back to that previous state?
I assume restoring the factory.zip to get back to stock is necessary to reverse some changes in 1337 ROM.
I'm going to give this a qualified "yes" because I believe the NookManager backup is complete. So restoring it will give you back whatever you had when the backup was made. Everything else will be wiped out. I do not think you need to do a factory restore unless you have some desire to return to oob stock.
I've not worked with the 1337 ROM and the two developers are long gone, but I'm pretty sure that NookManager is the way to go if you made a pre-1337 backup and want to return there.
Hello,
Rom works fine, but I have problem to reach most of internet sites, youtube (app does not work at all), google shop - is any tweak to fix it?
My guess is that Opera Mini is not TLS 1.2 compliant and so fails on most websites. It may have a setting. Try typing "opera.config" into the address line. If that brings you to any settings, look for "Security" and TLS 1.2. Failing that, uninstall Opera Mini and install Opera Mobile 12.10 and follow the directions here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nook-touch/general/opera-mobile-tls-1-2-t3843524
No version of YouTube will work on the NST/G. Period. No logins from Android 2.1. Uninstall.
Google cut off PlayStore access to Android 2.1 in 2017, so the Market app and SearchMarket are useless. You can uninstall the latter, but leave Market alone and ignore it. If you want access to the PlayStore, install the Yalp Store. To get it working correctly, tap on the "update" bar after it settles down. Don't update anything, just login with the generic Yalp Store login. That will get search working and everything else. In Settings, change to light theme and whatever else you want.
Re: Youtube, here's what worked for me.Thanks for the tip with Opera - now it works much better, I can actually use Internet in my NST : )
I just wanted to watch some cats videos - but as I see even m.youtube (in Opera) is not supported? Do you know any other way to effective watch videos or even gifs/webm?
Re: Youtube, here's what worked for me.
You need Opera Mobile, MX Player, either FastMode or NoRefresh, and USB Audio if you want sound.
I don't know whether you need to be signed into Google on the browser, but I am.
Go to youtube.com. You should be redirected to the mobile site. Tap on a video. You get a message saying it can't play. Dismiss with back button (the one on the status bar). Now you're on a page with slightly larger image of video. Long-press and select "open in new tab". Video opens in MX Player. Closing MX Player takes you back to Opera.
Both MX Player 1.7.40 and the NEON codec are available through the Yalp Store (PlayStore) app. Did you not install it? The apk files are larger than the maximum posting size here. Install MX Player first and then the codec. If you already have the codec installed, remove it and start again. Thanks again : )
I looked for MX Player for 2.1 and found last this version - https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/j2-in...ayer-1-7-40-froyoeclair-android-apk-download/
But problem is I cannot download it. I tried on 3 separate devices and Internet connections. Do you have apk to spare with me?
I downloaded codecs package fro Neon but I cannot enter the menu - app want to update online anyway.
Ok, I get "mx-player-1-7-40-froyoeclair-android-apk" version but codecs are missing. When I try to download them, I get connection error. Internet is working fine.
Generally, but when it doesn't it will indicate "incompatible" and not allow a download/install. Same with paid apps. No purchases through Yalp Store.@nmyshkin ... a small doubt ... this yalp store shows apps that are only compatible with our devices android 2.1 ?
Would love to try this out but I'm not seeing the links for the 1337rom, nooter-part1, and nooter-part2. Am I missing something?
Can you post some screenshots?
Which homeapp is used? I'm asking as the one in [NST/NSTG][ROM] Tweaked Modded ROM [Feb16] is restarting / falling into refresh loop with some of my books, which is a bit annoying![]()
For root access you can try latest Main_test.apk on 101 pageSome pretty nice sounding bug fixes and features, but maybe not fixes for our root issues.
