Until more interest in this model is made I feel their won't be any ability to unlock and use 3rd party roms, which is a shame really. However as it is this is a very fine mobile phone.

It looks like all commands related to "flashing" or "unlock" are removed from bootloader of nubia Z50.
It's impossible to unlock without EDL firmware leak...

Has anyone been able to get their Z50 working with android auto (wired or wireless)? I always get errors when attempting to get it to connect. It works fine for bluetooth calling, but not for AA connections.

You need to get root and install Magisk module since Android Auto needs special permissions (it's missing in CN ROM)

I requested about bootloader unlock to ZTE support centre but then they forwarded to Nubia's support centre which is same as redmagic one because this devices is Nubia equipment.

I just waiting their response.

There should be a OEM unlock option in the developper settings, if there isn't you might see if what fastboot mode says. Maybe on fastboot menu it will specify if this is an unlockable phone or not ?
Or perhaps try executing "fastboot getvar all"
This is not a dangerous command whatsoever, it just gets of bunch of info from the phone.

Edit: Just tried to change system language with adb and "Language enabler" app and .....NO. We are limited to four system languages, there are no hidden languages in Nubia Z50. Well it was worth to try. Morelocale will do just fine.

To me this means that bootloader is unlockable, espacially since nubia has a track record of allowing it (and even keeping the warrany intact if you do unlock I think)
the command would be "fastboot oem nubia_unlock NUBIA_NX711J"

NUBIA confirmed to not release any official BL unlock method.
also one Chinese guy received message on the wechat that they will not provide BL unlock due to MyOS is provided to government and some enterprise uses.

I gonna try dump firmware using Redmagic 8 series firehose (here) soon. This is the only one file that I can get for 8gen2 with ZTE signed firehose elf .
However I think it not gonna work...and they didn't use qfil so I need to find another tool which can ignore some signature verification error....

Unfortunately abl also different with 8 series so

I mean they didn't use the QFIL for extracting ABL.img. they used QLM Flasher Pro (paid app) instead.

The 8pro abl.img and firehose signature hash is not matching with z50 abl.img 　but what i know is one of the three firehouse.elf signature hashes is identical to the z50 xbl.img.... but weird thing is the firehose files signature is something weird...

edl is supposed can accessible with firehose file. otherwise they can't fix the phone due to bootloader have no unlock commands.

The problem is that the connection cannot be established in Sahara mode. And I can't get some information correctly.

- MSM HW ID - I got an wrong one that definitely not valid ID with any phones.
- Serial Number - same as MSM ID.... almost blank.
- OEM_PK_HASH - blank
- Log buffer - blank
- SBL SW Version - blank....

Unfortunately, global ROM devices are not yet available. and there is no link to download Global rom because NX711J is not on the list at global support page yet.

I thInk Aliexpress global rom is fake cuz in their description they said it's china rom....

This strange company is eating away at my nerves. I stupidly can’t find a usb driver for z50, Windows can’t install the driver in power+vol down mode. Guys i beg you give usb driver for fastboot.
