so some of you removed the water blocking white sealant and microphone started working(probably was working before the stuff was removed).. Since this is most likely firmware/software..will the Unified 1/8 1900/2100 Unrooted Secured Tuned Stock Rom help?
Thanks

Yep in my case it helped. After reading other thread about the sealant I looked into the microphone hole of mine and it was completely shut off with the white sealant. No wonder no one could hear me unless I shouted into the mic. After a few minutes of cleaning mine I can speak a normally on calls and people on other end hear me fine.

Like others have said poor quality build control. Individual assembler just soused the sealant to my truesmart not concerned at all if they were assembling a working product. Just get it down the line.

There is excess white sealant blocking the mic pinhole on some devices, but that is NOT the greyish white plastic seal at the very back that NEEDS to be there to protect the mic and watch from water damage. If you clean out any plug of excess sealant that might be there, you have to be Very Careful not to puncture the plastic seal at the back end of the pinhole, or else your watch mic will definitely be damaged if you submerge it.

That said, the TrueSmart is so poorly designed and manufactured and assembled, generally, that there are already several other points of entry for water anyway, already - gaskets, speaker grill, antennae ports, stupid afterthought buttons and sometimes even the display screen has been mounted in the frame so sloppily that you can see circuitry visible from the outside.

There seems to be no Q/A on these devices at all.

I hope yours has none of these issues, but if your mic produces garbled sound, you might want to look to see if there is excess white plastiky sealant blocking the hole. If so, cleaning it out carefully might help the mic quality a great deal, or it might not.

When it works, it works great. Really nice speaker phone. I wish we could figure out why some of the TrueSmarts work well as phones and others sound crappy, even if there is nothing blocking the mic pinhole. Its a mystery.
