Could someone please tell me why this STOPPED working after a period of time?

The translucent navigation bar stopped working after a couple days and now when I try to flash it again it doesn't do anything.

Why the hell is something like a build.prop mod stopping after a period of time?

I'm using this since day 1 maybe 2 of ktikat and never had something like this and this isn't a build.prop mod it's in the framework-res are you sure this is the right thread?

Also you might have some other app or something similar for the navigation bar that keeps replacing the settings (maybe some xposed mod)?

Sorry. I did get mixed up but yes. This is the right thread.

For some reason, even after flashing back to complete stock, and re-rooting, the navigation bar STILL doesn't apply. In fact, now, I only get a bootloop.

I have tried going back and forth between the transparent zip and stock zip. And yes, I have cleared the caches each time.

Yes I do have gravitybox but have had the navbar overrides disabled. I have even tried uninstalling the exposed framework. No dice.

For some reason, no matter what I do, I cannot get this mod to work anymore.

What is your original framework-res version? I had a problem with the zip in home, because it had the wrong version 4.4-907817 instead my version is 4.4-920375, i've modded and uploaded this version:
http://goo.gl/zVglei, you can try if it solves the problem

I don't think that the versions matters to me it worked even the krt16o on krt16s make sure u fallow these steps
1)make sure you are running the factory image aka completely stock version
2)when flashing make sure that you wipe cache and dalvik cache BEFORE rebooting (as optional you can try fix permissions) if you get bootloops then flash the stock zip for your n7 and wipe caches again and reboot if you are still bootlooping you are doing something wrong
@O_sbirro from what build version is that framework?

I've already done everything suggested in this thread.

Here's how it goes. I enable the mod. It works for a while. Then after a day or so, the navigation bar stops working. The status bar stays transparent but not the navigation bar. The ONLY way to get it to work is to unroot, reflash a STOCK image, and then reroot and reapply the mod, erasing everything on the tablet. This has happened TWO times.

I have GravityBox but ALL navigation bar tweaks OFF.

I do wish someone would release a mod of this where it actually stays applied for over 24 hours. This is very frustrating.

For everyone here saying it works, how LONG has it been continuously working for? If it's less than a day or two, then the same thing will most likely happen to you.

Still something it's wrong on your end as I told you there must be something in your apps that corrupts the framework I use it since 16/11 when I uploaded the first file and never had problems I even use the latest kitkat version of GravityBox for few days already and it's fine. Root or such thing doesn't matter and you don't even need it because what does that zip it's push that modified framework to system/framework and it's just a line of code that has to be changed from false to true and that's all. My suggestion it's try to disable gravity or anything that has to do with the navigation bar ( mods for modifying the keys or similar) or maybe you are flashing a wrong file but I doubt it since it shouldn't even boot if the file it's wrong

Yeah. I have no idea. I have tried going back and forth between stock and transparent, both with gravitybox on and off AND uninstalled and reinstalled xposed framework. I'm running stock 4.4 KRT16S. I've tried both the original and your updated one specifically for that build. It's all the same. Switching back between stock and transparent changes the status bar just fine, but the navigation bar stops being transparent. I've even tried it both with and without the override system settings on the navbar settings of gravitybox both on and off.

Now it IS still transparent in landscape mode. If it helps. I am using Nova Launcher beta. I have tried both enabling and disabling the seperate "transparent navbar" setting in Nova launcher but with no effect (except when the mod is working, turning it off and on properlly disabled and enables the transparency for JUST the homescreen. (BTW, when I say the mod is broken on the navbar, I mean on the homescreen AND lockscreen.))

If it helps. I'm using a modded version of gravitybox as the official up to date one removed kitkat support. v2.8.0 modded with Kitkat support. Specifically, this apk: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2554049 It shouldn't have an effect though as it works with this xposed module just fine for a little over a day and then the mod is just half disabled out of the blue; my navbar is not transparent, status bar still has transparency just fine.

I dunno if any of this helps but I would love to get this working again.

Have you changed wallpaper lately? I have managed to reproduce something similar. If you use the GALLERY build in "set as wallpaper " that's what will happen use novas set as wallpaper

Just hold some empty spot on your home screen and go to wallpapers and set what ever you like. It you prefer to use the gallery app then go to set picture as and use the "wallpaper" from Nova or Google plus... Blame Google for that and their stupid double photos apps

Wait, I've seen the same thing! So can I fix this by just setting a wallpaper without using nova? Or do I have to wipe and all that **** over again? Have you been able to get the mod re-working without wiping and reflashing?

Wait. Saw your post again. No I haven't used the GALLERY set as wallpaper. Only Nova's I've seen it break on me using NOVA'S set as wallpaper...

Edit 2: Nope. Didn't fix it. Apparently either the Gallery or Nova is permanantly ****ing up the tweak. Great. How is that even ****ing possible?

Ehm I don't know what you mean but this has nothing to do with the mod it's just Google gallery app that recognizes the screen from where the Navi bar starts.. Try using the Google+ one that seems like the one n5 uses and yes ofc it works it's just the wallpaper you don't need anything to wipe
About Nova I think it's fine since I use it too I think you just used the gallery app for setting wallpapers

If the mod wasn't working then you shouldn't be getting the transparency on the status bar on the lock screen too and since this mod has nothing to do with the home screen then it's 100% the wallpaper (the home screen depends of the launcher and Google search) :)

After ****ing about again. I tried setting the REGULAR Launcher. Going into recovery and unapplying and reapplying the mod. Then the navbar on the LOCKSCREEN was fine but the navbar on the regular homescreen was still black. I tried switching back to nova and it was still black. THEN the lockscreen navbar broke again! SOMETHING IN NOVA launcher AND/OR the way android handles wallpapers overall is breaking this mod.

wait a sec mate slow down is your STATUS bar transparent on the lockscreen? if so the mod its working perfectly because config_enableLockScreenTranslucentDecor its the line that has to be changed in the framework and this is for the LockScreen which means status and navibar there are no different lines for status and/or navibar and this is for sure.

now if ur navi bar are black on Lockscreen and/or Homescreen thats launchers work. try GeL but nova Beta with transparent settings ON should work too AND replace the wallpaper ;)

Done ALL of that. Nova doesn't help. I've been running nova the entire time ALONG with switching to the stock launcher. And yes. The STATUS bar has been fine thoroughout.

NEW DEVELOPMENT! On the STOCK launcher. I tried switching wallpapers using the DEFAULT WALLPAPERS picker. NOT gallery, Google+ or anyhing. THE "BUILT IN" wallpaper picker. After doing that, the STATUS bar turned black. Using the default BUILT-IN WALLPAPER PICKER (the one with the "7" wallpaper and others google includes) breaks the STATUS BAR transparency.

Edit 2: Reinstalled nova and it was working. Reapplied a nova backup and it broke the navbar for both the homescreen and lockscreen. NOVA PARTIALLY BREAKS THIS MOD.

Ofc the stock launcher doesn't have transparency build in
.. You need Google experience launcher or other kitkat launchers the best will be to show me what you doing with kitkat build in video recorder because I have no idea what you doing mate

I figured it out. It's kinda fincky. Changing wallpapers with nova with different wallpaper pickers can break AND unbreak the mod. It seems when nova (or any launcher) changes the wallpaper, the system doesn't know what to do with the navbar (and sometimes status bar) transparency. The mod is working fine but refreshing the wallpaper will sometimes cause the system to partially revert to before the mod is applied.

(as for the built in video recorder, I'm not sure how I'd do that.)

there isnt anything like breaking mod or unbreaking it mate :D its just how the app detects the "Screen" for the wallpaper if u restore a backup from an older version of nova ( no beta or even 4.3) how do u expect it to work? And frankly this has nothing to do with the mod its novas problems, if you use the set as wallpaper from google+ ( which is also build in and its the "newer" gallery app as it seems according to google) will work also...even google experience launcher its fine..if u put as default launcher the STOCK one u will lose transparency everywhere...because google prefer not to have this feature on out of the box because the nexus 10 had problems with it and so they decided to disable it,and make it n5 exclusive

Got it. But that still doesn't expain why I can sometimes get it working and then without a wallpaper change or anything, it'll just stop working. AND, if that was the case, shouldn't the status bar have the same issue?

i have no idea you are the only one that report such things even on other threads like the nexus 4 this cant just simply stop working (its a modified framework not an ordinary app if it stops working your device wont even boot ) might happen if you doesnt set nova as default launcher so it returns to the stock or since they both manage the "screen borders" differently you'll need to replace the wallpaper
