Thanks, much appreciated :)

Waze is a free community based navigation app. In 2013 it was acquired by Google, it look really promising. The below link only allows me to see the Danish version, not sure if you will be automatically diverted to your country version, hope so :)

It looked promising . . . until Google bought it . . .

WAZE is a navigation software that needs to be connected. Kinda like Google Maps but with reports of crashes, slow downs, hidden cops etc.
Lol, you dont appear to like it ! I hate nav software that only works with the internet, its plain stupid.

Navmii a free and open source nav software that uses open street map and doesnt need the internet.

No 2GB RAM for you @Oldpapa49 ?[/QUOTE]
Nah. I wait for a bit before I jump. Might do the 6.0 maybe if it comes true.
I see that voice dialing seems to be dsa8310's exclusive. For the heck of it I installed malaysk 4.4.4 and a no go
So for me a toss up.
I did try that navigation program on the way home, but I did buy sygic.
Nothing like playing and trying. I wonder how many write cycles I have done.

Using the MTC Service app and xposed plugin you should be able to get voice dialing to work on other roms, basically MTC Service acts like a dialer, but rather than trying to dial directly it just relays the info to the BT module so the call can be made successfully.

I believe this has been implemented in the latest mtc service. I am currently on Booroondook's 4.4 and it works for me . I was playing with Automate (the Android Auto clone) and, when trying to dial I got a popup asking to select the dialer, with mtc-service as an option.

Has anyone messaged Klyde yet to see if they will share an internal picture of this unit to see if it's compatible with MTCB/C units.

This might be a good opportunity if it is, for a group buy of the SOM's (if they are compatible and IF they sell the alone)

Adding 2gig of memory to your MTCB/C unit without fail is quite a feet in itself, but for your average user that does not have access to the alignment equipment and IR stations, 2gig it is far out of reach.

So a simple SOM swap would be awesome.

Android 6.0 for HeadUnit

I prefer this one (The Apps are sober and seem more usable in car, even if i had prefer that the apps was the same but red instead of blue or some kind of Dark and Day mode). They say API Level 19 and that they will release API 22 or 21 for decembre ....... How this is even possible???

I also find a thread that is talking about the device and trying to convince the fellow that both this unit to post the Firmware image.

As @dsa8310 says, its really not that hard to add the RAM. A simple SoM swap would also be good though and if youve already done the 2GB upgrade as it will make you old SoM more sellable.

Yes, but that one is NOT an MTC head unit, it also uses an Allwinner quadcore CPU thats slower then the RK3188.

I am sorry to inform you that anyone that quotes any post made by any user from my ignore list shall land on the list as well. This is my only method of avoiding trolls. You have been warned. :)

P.S. People getting accidentally on the list could PM to me after purging their posts of the offending reference(s).
Youre clearly referring to me, NOTHING I have posted can be categorised as "trolling", this policy simply means that you wont be fully engaged in the debate in your own thread !!

People can quote whomever they wish.

While we're waiting for 6.0
I installed the October ROM, mainly because I wanted to try Android Auto.
I also installed L Speed, that made Lollipop usable :)
The issues I have with this ROM now:
Control Settings app (canbus) - starts OK but when clicking on Car Settings it crashes
Waze - installs OK but crashes at start - I guess it happens when it tries to access the network
Tomtom GO 1.2 - installs OK but crashes when clicking Get Started.
Any app that could log what's going on?

UPDATE
Downgraded to September ROM. Simple update from Settings menu, no wipe.
Control settings works
Tomtom works
Waze still crashes at start
