Hi, i just got the i9000B and for what i know i can not flash most roms here since i have a diferent phone, at least with diferent frequencies but today i came across a rom for my phone, one month newer...

the file was in a ZIP with SS_DL.dll and a tar with: cache.rfs dbdata.rfs factoryfs.rfs modem.bin param.lfs zImage

and it got me wondering, can i flash just this (modem.bin) alone or not plus one of this ROMs and keep my 3G bands?

Do you have the original ROM packed in a way you can put it back by Odin in case of trouble?

I'd never try anything related to alternative ROMs without this.

I'm brazilian too, but my SGS is international, i9000... man, I "semi-bricked" this phone 3 or 4 times till I got it like I want. I tested a lot of crazy things with new kernels, ROM+Kernel combinations and different lagfix solutions... this things can give you a heart atack even if you have the original ROM installable by Odin. I messed with the IMEI verification too... my SGS started to send SMS to everybody in my contact list telling I was a criminal and stoled a smartphone. :D Now I'll pay for I don't know how many calumnious SMS!!! :D

I'd preffer to play russian roulette instead of trying any kind of mod in my SGS without a very trusted copy of the original ROM packed in a way that I could send it back using Odin.

If you want to take a look in my experiences, in portuguese, please visit my blog: http://www.droider.com.br/2010/11/24/recupere-seu-galaxy-falecido-2/

for what i saw inside the files, the B seems to be to all latin america, my GF is from buenos aires, small country i guess :p

BTW a couple of cuestions:
1) in odin you put the tar file in PDA and nothing else or you extract it?
2) were you able to use a B rom in you international version?

In PDA you put the tar file to flash a kernel... I did it when I flashed the speed kernel.

I dont wanna try to use B ROMs in i9000... I had enought troubles flashing especific ROMs for the exact model! :D
