Full factory restore ODIN with radio, kernel and recovery. This will bring you back to the current unrooted 2.2.1 EE4 release of Android for the Droid Charge. Use 7zip to uncompress and flash with ODIN or SamsungPST.

If you need to fix your phone due to a bad restore from CWM or EXT4 File repartion problems you can use this ODIN file along with imnuts's PIT file. His instructions are here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111486

File Name: CI510_VZW_EE4_ALL_ONE-LTE-CP_REV03_user_CL1014954.tar.md5.7z
File MD5: b1ff17d01a9eaf2a85e928b7b340804f (this is the MD5 of the 7zip file)
File Size: 359.02 MB (376,462,465 bytes)
File Link: http://bit.ly/r3jeQB

Enjoy!

THANK YOU! Taking this and going from the leaked 2.3.4. Still not perfect. I guess i am waiting until its re-released or released by verizon/samsung.

Thanks to the devs for their hardwork regardless.
I will post back with my results also for those worried.

You only need the PIT file if you wish to remap your partitions. Otherwise you can just flash the ODIN file directly.

Examples...

1. Want to restore from a GB rom.. flash just the ODIN
2. Want to restore from any EXT4 rom (or voodoo mod).. flash ODIN and PIT file
3. Bad restore from CWM.. flash ODIN and PIT file
4. Want to restore from regular froyo rom.. flash just the ODIN

Hope that helps..

It does. I dont particularly understand partitions at this point so i can leave it alone. Its flashing now as downloading took forever. I've today off thankfully so i have time to troubleshoot.

EDIT: Also, 101 tasty chowdowns is on travelhd right now so it has been entertaining through this long process.

    Hey OP,

Care to share the 2.3.4 AOSP ROM you have listed in your sig?

I am still tweaking it.. not 100% happy with it yet. But will share when it gets more stable.

    Thanks for the interest!

Not sure if I should use this or not. I had flashed PBJT kernel with voodoo, but I disabled it through CWM anticipating I would need to flash to stock, which I now discover I need to do. Any advice?

If you need to get back to stock, then flash this with the PIT file. The PIT file and the instructions are here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111486

I just tried this to come down from gb, and it failed a few seconds in. Now my phone won't go into download mode, so odin and the samsung internal fix can't work. Any suggestions?

What method did you use to flash it? ODIN or SamsungPST? I have had great success with flashing back to this from every ROM I have tried. Even ones that reformat with EXT4 (voodoo).

Everyone should keep in mind that you can brick any phone when you start moding it. The only 100% safe way is to never update or mod the device when you get it. I say never update, because some carrier OTAs have bricked devices!
