What the.......? Downloaded and installed Odin from here and huge amount of viruses started installing as the "supposed" ODIN installed. Ran malwarebytes and it went crazy. This ODIN download is full of malware/viruses. Malwarebytes found over 60! Don't go to odindownload.com

Went here first but no download link and the thread is closed.

Does anyone have a valid download link?

Check out the scan from Jotti's: http://www.smugmug.com/photos/i-DvnPSnL/0/XL/i-DvnPSnL-XL.jpg

I have never had to install Odin. It is just an executable.

Strange page which is not a official side for odin. Its copy&paste (texts can be found 1:1 here in xda), which didn't recognize the xda users who are involved and it is completly unclear who this page made. So, many criterias not to download anything from this page or using it.

Best will be when you also remove the link from the url here.

the site is still dishing up viruses

The odindownload.com site as of today (29th Nov 2014) is still dishing up viruses: I downloaded the odin "installer" from the site, ran it but recognised the signs and deleted the virus as it was trying to do nefarious things to my system.

FYI MalwareBytes detects some of the viruses in the package as PUP.Optional.SupTab.A, PUP.Optional.VideoDimmer.A, PUP.Optional.WPM-A etc.

The site samsungodindownload.com is a clone of the same virus laden page.
I've submitted both sites to Google as malware pages.

According to this, the site is hosted at RamNode and the registrar is Godaddy.

So to get it taken offline, email these addresses which are specifically for ToS complaints:
abuse[at]ramnode.com
abuse[at]godaddy.com

Just leaving this here...good luck :)

yup ODIN virus fest AVOID

****in ODIN disabled Windows Defender, and has autolauncher trying to get you update adobe from an obvious spoof site. AVG doesn't find it. Scoured my registry and found the folder MICRON holds the offending files exe and dll's.

Guess I'll try to get the cyanogen installer back on my S4, trying to get lollipop rolling on it. Wish me luck :)

Also happened to me... Just dowloaded and installed Odin v3.10.6 from this website as I didn't find any other link and didn't know it was an executable. I unchecked all the other crapwares during the installation process, but it installed them anyway so beware!! Currently running Malwarebytes to remove all these. Apart from this, it actually also extract a folder with Odin.

I later found this thread in which there is a download link for Odin v3.10.6 among a lot of useful downloads.

Oh bollocks I just downloaded the Sammy drivers from there and was wondering why its copying so many files and slowing down my system. As I was installing it I saw this thread and quickly aborted the installation but it had been running for about 30mins. I am now running zonealarm antivirus program to check the amount of damage done. Thanks for this thread as I would have been clueless without it.

Yup. After clicking on a link someone posted in the Omega ROMs forum to download Odin, i foolishly downloaded it. I shut off Avira real-time protection, assuming i was getting false-positives.

Yep, completely worthless download.

I had to uninstall about 6 programs on my PC. It's sad that it's the very top search result on Google.

re: odindownload.com viruses

I downloaded from there yesterday and I've been trying to clean my laptop ever since. I've used mbytes chameleon three times, adwcleaner, zoek, combofix, you name it ... I'd have done a clean windows reinstall already but I don't want to lose my browser histories -- it's my only clue as to what I was working on on any given day.
Anyhow it's not just the ordinary dozen or so variations of PUP -- I've blundered on to attack sites before, but this is my worst experience ever. And it comes up way higher in search when you google Odin than legit links -- must get a lot of traffic. So yeah., we we're idiots but at least we're not lonely idiots.

just fell for this

Luckily I clicked advanced install and noticed it wanted me to install like 8 programs that had nothing to do with Odin: PCCLEANER, etc. and none of them were actually Odin. Something smelt fishy, so I canceled the install, scanned the installer with malwarebytes, which confirmed that it was a threat, then promptly removed it. Now running a full scan to check for any lingering boogers. I'm nervous because I clicked yes to "allow __ to make changes to this computer."

I still can't believe that I fell for it. I just made another admin account and logged out of the virus filled account, then I logged into the new account and deleted the virus account and everything was fine because for some reason the Trojan only affects the account that it was installed on.
