Forgive my naivety, but flashing this image will probably overwrite my root that I maintained by using the process on this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2504408[/URL] and I will lose my root privileges right?

Ah, thank you good sir. I am still thankful for the safety net if/when things go wrong and find myself soft bricked. I am sure MJ7 will be rooted in itself soon enough. I appreciate all the work that gets done by XDA members.:good:
Every time I try downloading the the zip file (not Odin) 74% in to the download, I keep getting a download interupted message. Is there something wrong with the file? Please fix if you can on your end.

Failing on install
I originally followed these instructions to get to the J7 4.3 with root.

I then wanted to flash back to stock and tried to use the Odin VRUDMI1 image but it failed. I finally found this image and it almost completes but keeps failing at the end on the hidden.img. I re-downloaded the image, and the Odin 3.09 two times to make sure it wasn't a bad download but it still fails on the same place. Any help would be appreciated :angel:.

Once you take the 4.3 update there is no going back... Read step 3 of his inductions...

Got it fixed, I simply unchecked "Auto Reboot" and it installed fine! Back in business

I am not denying you did it I am asking for clarification.
No not at all. I was able to reflash VRUMJ7 using Odin by unchecking "Auto Restart". With it checked it kept failing on the hidden.img partition.
I have tried this and as soon as it starts to write it fails immediately. Any suggestions? I have a soft bricked phone and have tried many different things and files and everything fails no matter which file and which Odin I use.
do you have the drivers installed? you can get it by downloading samsung kies.
Yes definetley not a driver issue. I wish it was. I have flashed my personal L720 and my Galaxy Gear in between trying to fix this thing so I know its something related to the phone.
I have been dealing with the same ALL DAY --- Here is how I got it to work...
Just flash (odin) the SCH-I545-pit...
I did this a couple of times, pulled battery, rebooted and finally got back to mj7------ no root though.....
Trying to find where this is at..

I flashed this with 3.09 and it got a good flash notification in Odin and when it reset everything is black, phone doesn't come on at all (at least the screen). I tried a different battery and when you plug it into a computer it gets a USB device connected sound. Did I kill the phone? Any way to get it back into ODIN download mode so I can try the flash again or get it to come on?

Will this remove the unlocked icon. Rooted with vroot. Then unrooted stills show unlocked icon upon reboot

It won't remove the "unlocked" on boot unfortunately, but the file and process itself run perfectly.
