Thank you for the help.

I was happy to see it was going along, but soon after, I've gotten a FAIL from Odin again. I used the PIT file and the Alternate restore file.
Any other ideas?

I need a phone bad.....
Try using the regular restore file and the pit file. Yes it re locks the bootloader but you can deal with that later

Root66 file, correct?
Re-partition should be checked? I don't see any mention of that, and it's automatically checked when I select the PIT file.

Thank you.

What files are you using? Were you previously unlocked and rooted?

Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
Tried I605_VRALJB_Restore.tar.md5 and CI605_I605VRLJB_I605VRALJB_CL414933_HWID04_HW_Rev0406_low_ship_user.tar.md5 to no avail.

was running JB17, unlocked, rooted, was cleaning up the phone a bit, uninstalled an app (iTriage), but then phone rebooted and got hung on start up, tried going into TWRP, just hangs on main screen then reboots in few minutes and then again, hangs on start up...

any suggestions on what to try next... besides going to verizon store and try to get a repl?

forgot to mention, when phone is off, and i plug in the charger, battery icon shows up but phone is non responsive, also no LED light whatsoever.... i think it's toast, unless there's some magic trick that i can try :(

Section 1b step 2 in original post of linked thread

The person I was just helping used the Root66 file, pit file, checked repartition and it worked. Did you try that?

already tried that method before posting, but it didnt work...
I don't have much knowledge with restoring to stock. I've never had to do it, I can only give advice based off what I have read. Try reading through the thread I linked. I don't think your phone is done yet, there is still hope for it

EDIT I just read that last part about the red light but nothing happens. I read a post somewhere in the past few days about someone having that issue. Not sure if they were able to fix it

I certainly will try not to!

I usually read a LOT before flashing, but I'd gotten too comfortable. I missed the one about the PIT file with a locked bootloader, so that one got me.
But hey, I've learned something new.

It's not SDS if you caused it by not properly flashing.

Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
but i did not flash it, it was running jb17 with no issues, this happened after i uninstalled an app and phone froze while uninstalling then rebooted and this problem happened, i can only get into download mode, everything else hangs, and then Odin wont even finish processes w/o hanging, so there's something more to this...

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure if you can still get to download mode its not SDS and your phone isn't dead. I would keep trying. Ask for some assistance in that other thread

I don't want to insult your intelligence but I thought I would just throw this out there just in case you forgot...

Did you attempt to manually enter recovery by pulling the battery and replacing it, hold volume up, home button, and power button at the same time?

Again, I know, lame question - but sometimes the simple solutions slip by.

Hey. An ota messed up my phone. It flashes the Samsung screen rapidly and won't boot into recovery. It does allow me to put it in download mode, but odin won't recognize it. Any solutions?
