Downgrading your firmware is fine and as safe as anyother stock flash, with one exception. For Samsung devices obsessionally employ rollback protection across certain releases, primarily if there is a security issue that gets fixed in later firmware.

To determine if the anti rollback counter will be incremented f next version. Look at the 5th character from the end of both your current firmware and the one you want to flash. You will find a number there, which is the bl version (or anti rollback number) for said firmware.

For example: Firmware SM-G950USQU2BRB1. Count back 5 from the end and you get 2. This firmware will work on v2 & v1 firms and will also upgrade V1 firms to v2.

sorry I didn't get what would happens
btw now I have this

and id like to downgrade to

also id like to know where to find the rom as mentioned; I saw that on sammobile there are many and I don't know which one to chose. I found just the samsung s9+ version

I try to update Bootloader and Modem of my S9+ but it keeps stucking in "Download Mode".
Is there anything I can do? On my S7 it never was a problem to update both.

Thank you!

EDIT: Ok, I found the reason. I have been using an old version. It has to be "Odin3_v3.13.1"

Just to remind others that this XDA thread is the original source of Odin.
Other sites like "samsungodin.com", "samsungodindownload.com", "odindownload.com" are all fake.

Safest way would be to compile it yourself from the sources, but they don't seem to be available on GitHub....

Does anybody know where to get them?

Or how we know the Release on XDA-Developer can be trusted?

I am new here, so no offense, but i would like to go absolutely sure, when it comes to flashing mobile devices....

When i check the WHOIS-Data this source doesn't look very trustworthy to me!

Odin is a utility software developed and used internally by Samsung which can be used to flash a Custom Recovery firmware image (as opposed to the Stock recovery firmware image) to a Samsung Android device. It is also used as a way of unbricking an Android device. There is no account of Samsung ever having officially released it, and is believed to be the result of an unintentional leak.
Odin is Windows only software, providing no support for other operating systems, though it is possible to use Wineskin on the Odin executable, allowing it to run on OS X.
